You have not eaten CKT, fried flat noodles with cockles, chives, prawns and bean sprouts, if you have nit tried the CKT here. You will be overwhelmed by the essential "wok hei" and well cooked ingredients. It's so well done that the cockles are just barely cooked leaving them juicy and tender. The chives are also added at the right moment so that they are able to release their fragrance. If you do nit eat chives or cockles, you haven't have had the real deal CKT. I could have gone for seconds had it nit for the heavy lunch of nonya delicacies.
Since I do take too much chilli, I had the black version. My friends had the red version. They said it's also very good. Spicy and pipping hot! The fried mee is slight different as it has a bit of sauce. The fried rice that we shared is also very good. The lady boss have very good skills on the wok. Everything turns out so delicious.
Do take note that they only open. In the evenings.
The coffee shop atmosphere is typical old school type where everyone knows what you ordered. It was nostalgic to eat a great plate of CKT here with your friends and reminisce about the good old days. Will definitely come back again for seconda...

During my conversation with the kopitiam owner, I learned that they usually close at 9 pm, but are flexible with their timing. They used to operate until midnight, but due to the age of most of the store owners being over 60 years old, they have adjusted their timings. They open as early as 6 am every day, and many patrons come for their authentic local taste porridge in the morning.
Overall, I had a great experience at this kopitiam, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for good food and warm...
Read moreAn old classic coffee shop in Penang. With pre war shop house as backdrop setting, you get to experience the original and old school coffee shop feeling instead of the modern restaurant and cafes sprouting up all around Penang. I stumbled upon this shop when I was looking for Hokkien Mee and surprisingly, the Hokkien Mee was pretty good. A hidden gem I would say. If you want to eat Hokkien Mee very early in the morning around 7:30am, head over to this coffee shop. Enjoy a hot cup of kopi 'O' with a nice bowl of...
