A famous restaurant name from Langkawi now in Penang. It's the management of Maroush but the name is Palace d'India. The space inside is very big, for a place and location like Little India, and the ambience is very desi and filmy with pictures of Bollywood and Mollywood superstars hung around. From the looks of it, the place looks more like a restaurant built in an old film set! Coming to food; the menu boasts of various Indian and Arabic delicacies. Tried the mutton Biryani since it was my first visit. And the portion was just about ok. Not less, not more. Taste was damn good, the mutton was cooked well although the pieces were a bit less. The aroma of spices was good and it blended well with the meat and rice. Very hospitable staff. Went on a day when they had a small party perhaps, so next time will go again and try their other North Indian varieties which look tempting in the menu :D. For me I give 5 stars for now as I am satisfied with the food and the service and apparently there is no proper North Indian and Arabic restaurant in that area. So I recommend it to all the...
Read moreLocated in little India Penang. They provide super excellent service. I entered with a doubt but came out with happy belly. The staffs are very polite and attend to our needs. The waiting time for food was less than 10 minutes. Ordered paneer butter masala cheese naan and garlic naan. They were finger licking good. Generous amount of paneer was served unlike other restaurants which skimp on paneer. Papad with chutney and kheer was served free of charge. The masala tea and coffee were good too. The waiters checked on us time to time and even gave free warm water for all 3 of us. They even politely rejected tips but we insisted. Shop is nicely decorated and clean. PAY THEM A VISIT IF YOU ARE IN PENANG, YOU...
Read moreWe went there for an event and we were hearing people raving that the food was good and delicious. We were served in buffet style so we don't know the exact menu. They serve biryani rice, daal, potatoes, curry chicken and mutton. The service is good but unfortunately, it will be nice if they serve watermelon together with a buffet table instead asking us to pick one when the waiter serves. The environment is clean, and decorated with Indian design. I am just worried that the metal panel on the ceiling is slightly loose. Hopefully the establishment can rectify this matter. Other than that, I am satisfied to patronise this establishment. Car parks are limited...
