This is exactly the kind of place I was hoping to find in Georgetown! Neko Vegan House is close to main roads, but located on a tiny side street/alley. There is a bell on the table outside to let them know you’re there. Inside is very intimate and wonderful—just three tables in a small room in the main dining area. It’s clean and cozy, and there are books set about to keep you busy while you wait.

The menu is simple. There are only a handful of dishes, but they all sounded very good. Looking around at other people’s plates, I don’t think there are any wrong choices!

I began with the signature nutmeg drink. Wow! It tasted nothing like the dried nutmeg I know. There was even a small, chewy bit on the glass as garnish, and I was surprised to find it tasted a little like dates. Very good option!

I ordered kabocha curry rice with katsu mushroom and tofu. The pumpkin curry sauce was delicious, and broccoli was a nice touch. It was so full of flavor! Excellent.

I was very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere, and my total bill was under 30k. It was unlike anywhere else I’ve been in Georgetown. Great experience and highly...

This place is a gem - probably not well known , we sort of discovered it by chance when we were hungry, tired and walking around in hot n sweaty weather. Like a hole in the wall kind of a small place - but really an amazing discovery and we are thankful we had a chance to eat here. Although the place is small, it is very clean, quiet and exudes this atmosphere of peacefulness and orderliness ( which was somewhat disrupted by our kids , but they were really nice abt it). We ordered almost all of the dishes on the menu and none of them disappointed- the sushi's were the best of all. I am sure even non vegans would love them. Even the drink ( nutmeg drink) was very unique and the apple cake ( dessert) was divine! Adults and kids were all happy and we all enjoyed the food. The service by the young lady ( she was the only one serving everyone) was very polite and friendly :) Would love to return here for a meal someday if we ever visit Penang again. Highly...

Amazing experience dining here! I came around 5pm and it was not crowded. I got the nutmeg drink and the (umami) curry rice. Everything was super delicious! I really savored every bite.

The curry was made with pumpkin and the katsudon was made half with mushroom and half with tofu. There was also two lotus root tempura included and steamed broccoli. Textures for everything were on point and felt like everything was cooked just right. The flavors blended well together and the dish felt light and clean. The nutmeg drink was naturally sweet and reminded me of sugar cane juice with cinnamon.

This is located in a more remote area/alley behind a Main Street. There is a sign by the door that says to ring the doorbell when you arrive and the owner will come. The owner was also very kind and friendly and explained the menu and dishes to me.

There are also some books and card games for guests to enjoy. There is a bathroom upstairs. It is cash or QR code...

We had lunch at this very interesting vegan place that looks like an old-time kampung house on the outside. It's located in a small alley. Inside, the decor is quite vintage, like traveling back to the 50s. The combination of old Chinese decorations with Western music was very interesting and added to the romantic ambiance, which my husband and I really liked it. We ordered the sushi platter for one, spicy fried Udon, and the signature spicy Kabocha Curry Rice. The food was awesome and very tasty! Their Nutmeg drinks were very refreshing too. One downside is that the owner seems to prepare everything herself, so when there are more guests, the waiting time can be a bit longer. Overall, it was a unique and enjoyable dining experience.
