I had visited this place many many years ago. Back then it was simple and I can see "the tree".. It's been a couple of decades since and this place has turned commercialized.

There is an unwritten and no signature as to where to go to order etc. We were usher into the restaurant and put up at a corner next to a little fountain. We arrived at around 7+pm knowing well that they start serving dinner from 5:10pm until about 9pm. So we arrived mid-dining time? The place is already packed.. there were about 2 tables available.

Once at our table we noticed that drinks menu and a lady promptly took our order. The sugar cane juice that we ordered is unlike any we had. Looking at the photo there's a bamboo in the drink but elsewhere I never had such sugar cane juice. There's a slight hint of sugar cane taste in the beverage.

We had to order at the counter and this is where we were a little confused. There's no table number and when we arrive at the front where we assumed to place our order, we were told by an elderly lady to order "over there" pointing to a spot that is vacant. We stood there menu in hand waiting. Fortunately another lady came back and took our order. We tried to describe where we sat and obviously is unclear. The lady asked us to proceed back to our table and she observed our location.

The food arrive rather quickly. First the potato leaves, Then the softshell crab followed by the gong pow frog. The fu yong eggs came last. In terms of taste, the softshell crab, potato leaves and frog are reasonable.. nothing fantastic. The fu yong eggs is strange.. we won't sure if that's our order or what we had ordered. Nonetheless and eat and left.

Honestly.. I would give this a miss and instead try the Seafood place just opposite Chew jetty. We saw it on our way into Armenian Street. It seems to be separate stores which probably means you get...

Bad experience dining here. Understandably, biz was good n very busy on a weekday but not an excuse for shoddy service.

Table we were seated has no number. The table was exceptionally high n we needed 2 chairs stacked for each to sit. Asked the waitress for an extra chair to stack, she obliged but immediately after that walked away as though nothing happened. Ordering system was bad. Hv to go to a crowded counter. Have to wait like 5 mins in a very narrow crowded space before order could be taken by a foreign staff. There appears to be no price tag.

Food was so so as cooking style as recommended by the foreign staff.

To settle the bill, we went to the counter. The local staff cashier was very rude. Since we were seated at the last table, we told them that but she gave a very rude look like we owed them n insisted for the table number. We told her that there is no number, she then grudgingly walked over to ask which table. Surely she knows which is the last table after we explained the location.

The 4 fresh medium sized mantis prawns alone cost closer to RM300. The others were ok but on the high side.

As with seafood, one is bound to use hands. No tissue is provided. Also the handwash solution at wash basin is diluted like water and cannot even wash our oily hands. Making good money but stinge on such small matters.

But bcos of the very lousy service, we would not go again nor recommend to others. There was not an ounce of courtesy or even a...

Terrible service plus terrible food ever. It was Sunday on 30th Apr 2023 we went there total 3 of us. First of all there is no place to seat, then nobody assist to get a table for us. Manage to find an empty table with uncleared food stuffs which previous customer ate, waiting quite long to get the stuff cleared. At ordering part, watever ordered the male staff mentioned all none and suggest some other menu. Food arrived, most of the food not fully cooked. Our menu was white bawal steam nyonya style, lady finger sambal, boiled kerang, petai sambal, fried squid, mix vege, salad. Kerang not fully boiled, return back to staff and ask for fully cook, we receive back was still same not cooked. All vegetables was not cooked fully. Fish smells and taste terrible. This shop was recommended by my chinese friend, and i myself went there with my chinese friends tried the food. The food was nice and pricing was affordable for 5 pax RM150. For this time went there with family, was so disappointed and pricing terrible. For this simple food of 3 pax cost RM143. Clearly shows that this restaurant are so racist on menu ordering and pricing. Not recommended at all. To indians family consider first before step in here. Racist seafood restaurant. If can i wanted to upload with terrible food pictures together...

Awesome food, great prices! We went here yesterday with some friends for Chinese New Year dinner. The food was so tasty and the prices were very reasonable. We had Teow Chew style snapper which was just amazingly delicious; fried chicken which was crisp and flavorful; pig foot which was tasty albeit a little on the tough side, but we still loved it. We also had conch which were so good, but a bit of a pain to get out of the shell. The egg plant and the greens we had were both done perfectly and both had amazing flavor. There was also a soup which I did not get the name as my friend ordered it, but had a very tangy flavor and was oh so good. There was also a curry shrimp in a coconut which was tasty, but a little messy to eat as you had to pick off the shell. And last but not least we ordered rice and they brought a huge pot for the eight of us. There was not a single dish in the lot that we did not love. I will certainly go back and would highly recommend this place, but do be aware it can be a bit stifling inside, so I would suggest to sit outside, or in front of the fans.

We came for dinner last night (Thursday) around 7pm and it’s a week day, no crowd. Not sure what is the specialty here. The taste of the dishes seem very mediocre. We ordered the following items: 1) Steam fish and we chose a rather small one but didn’t expect it to be this expensive (RM45). From the pic, you can see that the meat is very little. 2) Kam heong style lala but not sure why it came out as stir fried ginger style (RM12). Reasonably priced. 3) the famous coconut prawns (RM41) but I personally feel there’s nothing to shout about. Thick spicy coconut gravy, doesn’t taste like tomyam. Taste is alright. 4) Steam plain egg (RM10) - this is expensive and ridiculous. The egg is OVER steamed and not to mention OVERpriced. The amount of egg used is just 1! Look at how thinly layered the plate was. Very pathetic. 5) Lastly is the garlic stir fried sweet potato vegetable (RM10). This is the best dish out of all the dishes we ordered. I forgot to snap a pic of it. With 2 bowls of rice, the bill came up to RM120. Not really worth it.
