Utoo Boho Cafe & Patisserie — Restaurant in George Town

23 Oct 2024 My prior good experience of ‘Bohemian Pot Stew’ got me here.

We spent total RM 97 for 2 pax. We ordered King Prawn & Clam Pasta RM32, Creme De Mushroom RM16, Cafe Latte RM12 & Bohemian Stew Pot RM23 & Pistachio Cromboloni RM14

The King Prawn & Clam Pasta is a best seller so I had some expectation. It turned out the spaghetti was over cooked. Too soggy for my liking.

The ‘Bohemian Stew Pot’ had different amount of bread dough and the stew was not hot enough.

The Creme De Mushroom was expectedly nice.

The Pistachio Cromboloni was a surprise with filling inside.

I changed my mind about the food being really good. On separate visits, I realised there isn’t consistency in the food quality.

20 Oct 2024 ‘I love you too’! My eyes were glued to the aesthetic the moment we walked in. We weren’t really expecting anything spectacular and were there really for the aesthetic and ambience. I later understood it’s an aesthetic winning cafe, that really makes sense. I was already full prior to visiting but decided to have Bohemian Pot Stew and that was sooo good. My hub enjoyed his coffee and dessert too. This cafe definitely goes into my must visit list in Penang! I believe this cafe business owner truly know his crafts and takes pride in it. Till the next time.

During my stay in Penang, I stumbled upon this lovely café, and it turned out to be such a great find!

Food

I ordered the chicken wrap, and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, wrapped in a soft but sturdy tortilla that held everything together. The fresh, crunchy vegetables added a nice balance and made it light yet filling — simple, but really well done.

Smoothies & Milkshakes

The smoothies and milkshakes are an absolute highlight. Full of flavor, creamy without being overly sweet, and super refreshing — perfect for cooling down in Penang’s heat.

Cakes & Desserts

The cakes are a treat not to be missed. Fresh, moist, and full of flavor — especially the cheesecake and chocolate cake, which were both indulgent without being too heavy. Perfect with a coffee or smoothie.

Service & Atmosphere

The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was quick and attentive. The café has a cozy, relaxed vibe with a bright and airy interior, making it a great place to linger a little longer.

Final Verdict A wonderful spot for a tasty bite, refreshing drinks, and something sweet on the side. The chicken wrap was spot on, and paired with their smoothies and cakes, this café is a must-visit...

A quaint cafe located diagonally opposite 2-doors down from the crazy busy Ciao Gelato shop. This cafe is full of charm. From its beautiful aesthetics, blending brown, white, and gold long-lastic natural elements, the cafe screams Melbourne and Insta-shots!

The person managing the cake shelves is an experienced, enthusiastic middle-aged man who made us realize we were spoilt for choice when it came to mini cake selections. There was a huge variety, made even more attractive by limited edition varieties focusing on blending nyonya flavors with traditional French pastries. 😋

I visited with my parents during our short trip to Georgetown and this made my trip. The 2 mini cake flavors we tried were The Onde (pandan flavored, limited edition) and Emerald Ganache (pistachio, raspberry filling). We ordered 3 flavor Canele takeaway too.

In terms of drinks, my hot matcha was sooo good! The cafe was really generous with the amount of matcha they put into the cup. And for RM12, I was really satisfied and the drink made me so happy.
