We had a fantastic meal at Xiaoxiangzi in Georgetown! The food was full of bold flavors and the variety on the menu made it such a fun and satisfying dining experience.
The minced shrimp hot pot was rich, flavorful, and comforting—perfect for sharing. The mala sliced noodles with pork belly had just the right amount of spice and numbing kick, with tender pork belly that paired so well with the chewy noodles. We also loved the RM1 skewer sticks—great value and delicious, which were all grilled to perfection with that irresistible smoky, spicy seasoning.
The crayfish was a highlight—juicy and coated in a fragrant, spicy sauce that kept us going back for more. We ended the meal with the refreshing sugar ice jelly, which was light, cooling, and the perfect way to balance out the spice.
The service was quick, the environment lively, and the food exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Chinese street-style dishes. We’ll definitely be...

Read moreChanced upon as was staying nearby. Came by for supper on a Thursday night at 1130PM and the place was half packed with people. Love the vibes, neon light, metal tables and chairs which brings me into causal roadside 大排档 kind of feel. Unfortunately, the live band wasn’t playing when we were there, else stronger vibes.
Aside from the skewers in soup (汤串), there are other dishes (including 冒菜) on the menu. Tried the garlic oysters which were fresh and sauce addictive, goes well with beer. Skewers are located in the fridges beside the counter and it’s self service. Opted for Mala normal spicy for the 汤串, the spiced broth was tastefully filled with different spices and similarly goes well with beer!
Definitely will be back to try other dishes and...
