Came here with greater expectation as I had visited their Pelangi outlet during which I had a wonderful experience.
this time however, a little disappointed.
Minor incident at the start ... reached restaurant at about 12noon, but restaurant was still closed. I peeked thru the glasses and saw people walking around. So I opened the door and asked. Apparently, manager had not arrived yet, so they can't receive guests. The restaurant opened 15 mins later when she arrived. This is nothing, I don't mind.
waiter who attended to us is ... hmmm.... let's just say his English isn't that great. So he made some mistakes in taking my order. When asked about the 2 desserts that we were considering. He muttered "same same"..
so when my katsu chicken burger came, sadly... there was a piece of steel sponge in it. I took it out, no problem. When we were done, I waved a lady waitress walking past and pointed at the steel wool and told her "please tell kitchen to be careful".... sadly.... she did not come back with any explanation. I don't even expect any compensation etc, just acknowledgment .... sadly, stone sinking in big ocean.... no sound...
finally, when the dessert came, it was very different from the item we ordered. Apparently the menu was pending reprint ... the waiter had to verbally explain. Probably I could not catch his explanation. But they basically did a 'impromptu' dessert.... it's creative... fine... but at least let me know.... it's no good for customer to expect something and realised that he is receiving something different....
during payment, this was explained to us..... and it ended with a request for a 5 star review..... I felt that it didn't deserve 1..... so I declined.....
I believe they can do better.... and will be willing to give them another try some time in the future if I'm in...

Bloom by Mok Mok is a floral theme café which looks aesthetically pleasing. Upon entering the place, you will be impressed by its photogenic ceiling, decorated with colourful dried flowers draping from above. This centrepiece fills up the entire cafe, so you will feel like you are dining in an enchanting garden. Fairy lights hang from above, completing the look.
Bloom by Mokmok offers a wide variety of delicacies from Asian, Japanese to Western. It is not halal-certified, though it neither has pork nor lard in this menu.
For lunch, I had the following items:
Truffle Hamburger Steak - RM35 Smoked Duck Risotto - RM32 Orange Coffee - RM16 Island Hopping - RM16
The total cost of the meal inclusive of 10% service fee is RM108.90. While it is a little expensive, the food and drinks are generally good.
Tip: Bloom by Mok Mok is situated on the eastern part of Taman Mount Austin. It is about 2km from Austin Heights, where all the restaurants, bubble tea stores and karaoke outlets are situated. After your meal, you can take a ride-hailing service (RM6) to continue your exploration further up in...

For food, we ordered the Tamago skewer, chilli crab pasta, chicken katsu burger.
Tamago Skewer : Nicely cooked. Soft and fluffy egg roll with spicy mayo as topping. Well matched and tasty appetiser. Abit on the sweet side though.
Chicken Katsu Burger : Buns are nicely toasted to a crisp surface, with a soft puffy white inside. The egg in the burger is a perfect sunny side up. The patty is made from fresh chicken and nicely battered and deep fried. Had it with the onion fries (highly recommended). You will love it even if you don't like onions. Overall, a dish perfectly seasoned and presented.
Chilli Crab Pasta : Pasta is cooked to perfection and the texture feels like home-made style pasta. The chilli crab sauce is nicely seasoned with an explosive burst of spiciness shortly after eating. Not too spicy though. The soft shell crab used is fresh and taste of the ocean. The pasta is nicely drained after cooking and does not leaves any water at the bottom of the pasta.
For drinks, highly recommend the Pink Paradise. Well blended and refreshing. Perfect when you just walked into the bistro after exposure to the sun.
Setting of the bistro is somewhat calm...
