After travelling back from Singapore, we searched on XiaoHongShu to see where we can makan supper, and saw this restaurant selling dim sum that operates until 12am. We decided to give it a try since it says their restaurant is 不踩雷 (not a bad choice) on their fb page. We happily stepped into their restaurant and ordered some dimsums and one drink. After ordering, their staff told us that the porridge we ordered was sold out. Not a big issue, but will be better if we were told that beforehand so we won’t order items that were sold out. After waiting for a few minutes, our drink came then a few more minutes the food came all at once (which was nice). The food was not too bad (hence I rated 4 stars), but their attitude is not good. My girlfriend ate something hard inside one of the fried fish ball, we took picture of it, and handed it over to one of the staff there and told him we ate this from the fried fish ball and asked to check whether is this “hard object” inside the fried fishball edible. After waiting for so long, there were no responds from any staffs. Then we decided to go to the cashier and ask what happened. (All I wanted was an clarification whether the hard object was edible or not, if it is, then just tell us and we will apologies on the mistake. If it is not edible, then just walk to our table and apologies to us then it will be ok. BUT, THERE WAS NOTHING, NO RESPONDS, LIKE I NEVER ASKED OR HANDED THEM THE OBJECT TO THEM AT ALL. When I reached the cashier, the cashier straight away showed me how much should I pay (to clarify, the total sum he showed us to pay is the total sum we ordered, so I assumed he didn’t acknowledge that we asked for a clarification to their staff). Well the fun part is here, I showed him the picture of the hard object (luckily I took a photo of it) and asked the cashier that did he acknowledge that I asked one of their staff for clarification, the cashier said: “oh sorry this is the central kitchen’s fault, we will feedback to them”, then he asked: “I free this meal for you guys ok?”. OF COURSE WE WILL SAY NO NEED FREE, Right? Then we paid the sum (INCLUDING THE PROBLEMATIC FRIED FISH BALL). So this is we were confused at: After asking for clarification, they just throw away the hard object, and their staffs continue their usual work, completely ignoring our request for clarification, maybe they thought that we didn’t took a picture of it? If it was the case that we did not took any photos or evidence, then will they just act dumb and say no such thing happened? If the cashier acknowledges this incident (the incident where I asked for clarification to one of their staff), then why still he show us the price to pay first, before explaining? Maybe he thought we did not took photos of the hard object, and when we asked he will try to act dumb? Or he thought that it is okay to ignore a customer’s request for clarification? Why tell me that it is the central kitchen’s fault? What am I supposed to do with this information? Your restaurant served this problematic dish, your restaurant should held responsible, not blaming others, right? Usually when dining at other restaurants and we found problems with the dish (such as foreign inedible objects inside the dish), usually one of the staff will come to the table and apologies, and sometimes will provide a new dish or discount at the final bill WITHOUT ASKING I FREE THIS MEAL FOR YOU GUYS OK?”, straight away just discount on the bill. (Do not misunderstand, I do not want a new dish or discount/free meal, I just wanted a clarification). But this restaurant, completely ignores my request for clarification and still shows me the total bill in the sense that he acknowledges my request for clarification. I know it is just a small case, but completely ignoring a customer’s request for clarification is just bad, especially you guys are in the...
Read moreA no frills dim place that opens till midnight. Possibly a nice supper place to fulfil ur late night cravings. In any case if u come here early morning say 8am it’s already quite crowded la. The place is spacious with plenty of tables. The menu is not as extensive as Gim Cheng and Guiyuan but i guess that’s how they control their qc. Ordered the recc salted egg yolk oyster roll (Rm9.90),the katafi mango shrimp(Rm7.80), xlb(Rm7.80) and a charsiew bao (Rm4 ea). I like the salted egg oyster roll every piece has a gd chunk of salted egg. Goes well with the minced meat wrap. The mango shrimp is also nice. Complements well with the fried pubic hair that gives it a nice crunch. The xlbs can totally give it a miss man basket.. When they serve the xlb to me they look like some old man’s shriveled ball sac. Can’t lift it up from the paper without breaking its foreskin… Totally sux balls man.. The charsiew bun also not too bad la. The fillings abit little but at least they use the fatty meat and is nicely caramalized. Overall the recc dishes are quite nice. It’s not as mind blowing as Gimcheng but the environment isn’t as hectic either. Still relatively comfortable indoors. Gimcheng feels like a sauna. Would have given one extra star if not...
