ChokDee Thai Restaurant delivers an authentic Thai dining experience, with most of the staff hailing from Thailand, ensuring genuine flavors. Conveniently located opposite the restaurant is a push cart selling LokLok, which can be enjoyed alongside your meal, though we discovered this after our visit.

The food itself is commendable for its authenticity. However, the service leaves something to be desired. The staff are often indifferent and unresponsive, and they tend to be forgetful, occasionally missing requests like bringing an extra plate or providing the necessary fire for your Tom Yum soup.

Been 2 years since my last visit to JB. Noticed some changes here and there but the most obvious is the price. Maybe it’s just me. Anyhow, we don’t get why this “restaurant” gets 4 stars in reviews. The staff won’t even bother to recommend anything, like robots taking orders and responded like Q&A sessions. The food presentation was as bad as their food. The Kanom Jean overflowing in Tum Sua (Salad) with just a few shreds of Payaya. Tod Man Krung tasted more flours than actual shrimps. 3 simple dishes (mediocre) with a pineapple juice (packet not fresh), 1 sticky rice and 6% sst for RM 103. At 4 am -- hoping for some noodle soup, I was surprised to find this Google recommended Thai restaurant packed to the brim with mostly young customers who had just finished their bar hops and clubbing, and mostly Thai -- which is a good testament that the food's probably good. 😁

Had Thai Boat Noodles (the one in beef blood broth) and Som Tum Pla Ra (papaya salad with salted fish and crab), both were delicious, just like from Thailand. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍👍👍

Also, enjoyed a vicious cat fight between local and Thai girls, and their local BFs -- both parties drunk as skunks, trading punches and slaps, ripping clothes and pulling hairs... 😈🥶😂😁

All that for a mere RM 40++ price tag, which was a small price to pay for all that...
