Terengganu Fish Noodle (JB) 鱼面小匠 — Restaurant in Johor

We went to eat 丁加奴鱼面FISH CURRY NOODLE, located near KSL Shopping Center. My sister and I ordered their signature dish from Terengganu, which featured two water-boiled small fishes with two types of chili. You could choose to pair it with curry or dry noodles.

The yellow noodles used in this dish had a delightful QQ chewy texture. The dark sauce leaned more towards the sweet side. One of the chili had a sweet and spicy taste, while the other was more watery, with a salty, tangy, and very spicy flavor🥵

The spiciness enhanced the mild taste of the water-boiled fish and paired well with the sweet noodles. The curry was mild and didn't contain coconut milk. My sister ordered Mee Pok, and all the dark sauce options here leaned towards the sweet side. So if you don't pair it with chili, it might taste a bit too sweet.

When I first saw this dish on YouTube, I couldn't imagine the combination of flavors. In my opinion, this kind of fish should be paired with rice and ulam, 🫣. But after finishing it, I can say it was very delicious and flavorful. That's why they are famous locally.

两条鱼面 Nice Fish noodle soup in Johor! i think this is better than Hai Kah lang fish noodle soup.

I order a medium(M) bowl of fresh plus fried fish noodle with additional pork slice. It’s a good choice I made. Everything is very delicious. Especially the pork which is very soft and not over cooked. Abit Salty but acceptable. I also ordered the fried wanton and it’s a 10/10 dish. It came freshly fried and the meat inside is deliciously marinated just right. Light and Crispy. Thanks to the staff for letting me order just one pc of the chilli fish. It was very nice! Fish meat is surprisingly soft.

Kopi oh kosong peng is strong and flavourful too. Very Big potion too

Ambience- clean, with both aircon and non aircon seatings. Service- very good Crowd- not too bad .

They sell toast bread with different toppings too. Very Interesting.

Too bad I can’t get to try their dry noodle. No more space

Highly recommend to try this out and it’s reasonably priced. So much Better than some over priced...

I rarely write a review, but need to share my experience dining in this restaurant.

First impression was nice and clean from the outside. However, once we took our seat, we were welcomed by FLIES. It is a dirty place. Not only that, there was a caterpillar worm crawling on our table. Unless you like insects surround you, it is not a comfortable environment to makan and kena sucked by mosquitoes at the same time.

Furthermore, I ordered the fish curry noodle and they decided to welcome me again with a NOSE HAIR on the fish plate. Showed to one of the waitresses and she removed it. Then, she asked if I still want a change or cancel the order!?

After a while, another waiter came to ask if they can offer me a side dish which I no longer have appetite to eat.
