Seriously a hidden gem in JB where it really feels like a small, authentic thai shop is here. The staff and chef speak in Thai too, and I am so happy to have a taste of real thai food without having to go all the way to Thailand itself.
Do take note that it's not very accessible by foot. 🥗 Som Tum Thai (15RM) Papaya salad using unripe papayas. Really fine and thing papaya strips that are tangy & crunchy. It soaks up a lot of the fish sauce and pounded dried shrimp, along with chillies and raw onions. I rate: 4/5 🌟
🍜 Thai Boat Noodles (10RM) Honestly, my dad's favourite. It is a heavily boiled to draw the flavours of pork and beef out to create this robust soup broth. The starchy rice noodles go so well with this. Though there was quite a lot of meat scum & sugar, this sweet meaty flavour is something that we will crave. I rate: 4.5/5 🌟
🍲 Tom Yum Kung (25RM) WOW. It's loaded with seafood and mushrooms. Big prawns and lots of squid. It has the right amount of tangy and aromatics that brings out the essence of Tom Yum goong. It's also thick and not watered down. Goes really well with rice. I rate: 5/5 🌟
🍝 Pad Thai Big portions of chewy rice noodles, coated with savoury and sweet sauce. Fried with generous amounts of fresh beansprouts and 2 big shrimps. PERFECTION I rate: 4/5 🌟
🍝 Pad See Ew Thick & flat rice noodles that are genrousky coated with oil so they don't stick. Fried in savoury sweet black sauce, kailan, and seafood, which is iconic to Thailand's char kway tiao. A little too oily for me. I rate: 4/5 🌟 They also sell many traditional snacks and ready-made takeaway containers of thai food as well at the front. It was truly a hidden gem that I wanted to gate keep, but I also don't want people to miss out...

Visited 818 Thai Food & Boat Noodle multiple times, their boat noodles(pork) are truly the highlight! 🍜 Rich, flavourful broth with depth, not the usual shortcut or bad knockoff versions you often find elsewhere.
Also tried their Pad Kra Pao, Kai Jiao Cha Om, and fried garlic pork, all were satisfying and well-prepared🍳 Their Thai milk tea is okay, a bit on the sweet side, could use a stronger tea flavour(look forward if they improve it).
👩🍳Staff are friendly and Thai-speaking, with a helpful aunty fluent in Chinese who can take orders smoothly. Food usually arrives in 10-15 minutes unless they’re very busy. No water served, but a standout touch! they hang free tissue packs around the tables, very thoughtful!🧻
🪑The environment is semi-indoor with fans and shade, but still quite warm and stuffy. It’s not spotless, but clean enough for a casual local spot.
🚗Parking is easy in the nearby open lot, but the road is uneven, not ideal for lowered cars with body kits.
💳They support QR code payment and DuitNow transfer, which is great for going cashless.
✅ Definitely will return. The food here feels genuinely Thai, not commercialized, and the prices are fair. A great hidden gem for Thai food lovers...
Read moreThis place seems like any stall in rural Thailand. The food & setting is very much Thai. There are plenty of Thai snacks and desserts placed at a table for us to choose and pick. The variety is awesome and the taste of those we ordered were delicious. The fried banana fritters were delicious & addictive. Fried well and topped with sesame seed, it was crispy on the outside but soft and flavorful on the inside. The mini corn apom was nice too but then it wasn’t hot. Still very nice though but I’m sure it will be awesome if it was hot when served. Here they also served a Jack fruit sticky rice instead of the more common mango sticky rice. The pork skewers were good as they used fresh pork and it was well marinated. Prices are not expensive but isn’t cheap either. It’s reasonable and importantly the Thai vibes...
