Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Biasa = RM10.90 No Service Charge
The Staff who took my order was Friendly and Welcoming. There weren't much customers within when I was there on a Thursday Morning compared to Dapo' Khaleeda next door.
The Nasi Lemak took about 8 mins to serve up and it was presented on a Big Bamboo Mesh which while looked Unique, I thought it was too comically big and made the actual amount of Food look Smaller. Would look nicer if the Mesh was slightly smaller sized tbh. Other than the Bamboo Mesh, the Actual Dish itself didn't really look Visually Striking in its Presentation. I thought it looked very normal as a Nasi Lemak.
The Sambal leans towards the Sweeter Side, not the Super Deep Complex Malay Style of Sambal that I expected. It taste very similar to the type of Factory-Made Kopitiam $2 Packet Nasi Lemak type of Sambal. If you have tasted such $2 Nasi Lemak Sambal, you will know what I mean here. I'll be honest, I'm not impressed.
Rice is also not the 马来风味 type of Rice. It's the type where the Coconut Milk tastes very strong. I feel the Coconut milk taste here is too Strong. The Portion of Rice is Acceptable though.
Fried Chicken is Thigh Meat. Ok its Hot but not Particularly Juicy. The Most Striking thing I thought was that this TOTALLY taste like a KFC Chicken! The Smell, the Skin, EVERYTHING reminds me of KFC! This is not Malay Styled Beautifully Spiced Ayam Goreng, this is Literally KFC Chicken hahaha! KFC Chicken is nice and all, but it has no place in a Nasi Lemak.
Papadom is normal and crunchy (not nua nua) and while I welcome it, its inclusion in a Nasi Lemak feels abit unusual and out of place.
Overall, I am disappointed as I had expected this to be very nice given how impressive this place looked, and how prominent their signboard advertises their Nasi Lemak. (It's literally in the Signboard).
Don't get me wrong, the Nasi Lemak here isn't Terrible until cannot eat type. But to me, this does not live up to High Quality Traditional 马来风味 Nasi Lemak that I expect from Malaysia. It cannot even match the RM2.50 Nasi Lemak I eaten previously in the Bukit Indah Pasar Pagi food stall.
This tastes more like a "Textbook Cooking Tutorial" type of Nasi Lemak. I don't taste any Individuality or Personality from the Chef in this Plate. Taste very Commercial, Very Factory Made type. In fact it feels like i'm eating "KFC Nasi Lemak" if it makes any sense. This really taste no different from those $2 Packet Factory-Made Kopitiam Nasi Lemak with KFC Chicken.
While the price for the amount of food is very reasonable, I'm sorry but I can't get past how Underwhelming this tasted. Luckily the Staffs Customer Service was at least Acceptable, so I will give this an Average Score. Maybe their Kuehs are better?

Read morePlace: air-conditioned + fan (windy) restaurant that specialises in nasi lemak. They sell other local kuih-muihs and delicacies i.e. fried beehoon, curry rice, and fried mee. Parking is nearly impossible here, lol. I had to risk parking beside the road and walk some distance to the shop. Becareful folks.
Service: Waiters brought the menu fairly quickly without delay and took my order fairly promptly. No complaints here.
Food: Nasi lemak with chicken rendang + fried herbal chicken (ayam goreng berempah): ok, this is a nasi lemak ala-chinese style with lots of red onions, some anchovies, and little serai inside the sambal for smell. It's predominantly on the slight salty with a tinge of sweet side (due to the red onions) . Spicy level: 2.5/10 (10 being hot peri-peri sauce) kids can eat this. The ayam rendang was so so in terms of taste but cooked to moist perfection. The ayam rendang was more like ayam pericik style with a spicy level of 3/10, and rich in flavour. But somehow, it was not what i expected from rendang. The chicken was cooked perfectly and softly....
Read moreJust a personal experience, not sure what made them so special that food bloggers and google reviewers make a lot of positive comment on them.
Firstly, owners are snobs. Do i look like a zoo animal? They are chinese couple middle aged, kept staring at me but no actual eye contact or a hello. I was the first and only patron at that hour of the day, and suddenly lots of expensive cars from outer states arrived they just get on with these people. You feel really uneasy they kept staring at you, but no eye contact, no attempt to hello at you or ask how is our food.
Secondly, the sambal totally no taste its like you put in your mouth sua, no spicy, no sweetness nothing, as good as stale. Ayam rendang same thing just hinge of saltiness, nasi just like what you get at hawker centres in Singapore.
Lastly, their staff made an iced drink which i requested. Was hot all the way even at the end my meal after 15mins, in a plastic cup somemore.
Maybe they are better at selling...
