We ordered R11 - 2 mix roasted meat rice with chicken thigh and honey char siew lean meat. Super delicious! One of the best chicken rice in JB town. You won't regret and won't go wrong with their chicken rice series . Dining in is better than take away as I had tried "tapao" thereafter and seems the char siew portion is disappointing. Also ordered N03 Herbal Roasted duck noodle with char siew added. Duck meat is really tender (because some duck meat hard to bite off) and no 'ducky' odor. The kolo mee noodle is also springy and much dark soy sauce gravy which i like.
We also ordered some traditional biscuits tau sah piah, the white and black paste and Portuguese egg tart. The biscuits are kept in a warmer machine hence when they serve to you, it tastes very fresh and crispy but more important the tau sah piah skin is thin and the paste content is generous.
What I don't understand is the shop layout seems kind a weird, the front shop where the cashier and the front kitchen has nearly occupied the whole floor walkway making it really narrow aisle for customer to walk in and out. Paying food bill at counter also a hassle when there are big crowds in the shop due to the narrow...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed the food at this restaurant – it’s consistently excellent. However, the service has been a bit of a letdown recently, and it’s frustrating because this has now happened a few times. Most recently, I ordered a meal that really needed soy sauce to enjoy it fully, but none was provided. It might seem like a small thing, but it makes a big difference to the overall experience.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, which is disappointing because I genuinely love the food here. When the same service issues occur repeatedly, it leaves a lasting impression. I understand that mistakes happen, but attention to these little details can really elevate a dining experience.
I’m hopeful that the restaurant will work on improving the service, because with a bit more attention to detail, it could easily become a favorite spot for many. The food deserves it, and so do...
Read moreWe were greet politely by all the staffs (including the chef). Waitress bring us the menu once we sat down, and order were placed smoothly. She is polite & gentle.
The restaurant (floor, cashier, kitchen, bar, dining area) is well cleaned & maintained, neat & tidy. It is very cooling with air-con provided. Like it the moment I stepped inside.
Having tried highly-rated roasted meat in Penang, I would say this is slightly poorer given that the char-siew sauce is weaker. The meat we find it best is the Roasted pork. Oh, their soup is marvellous!
Tau Sha Bia tastes blend. Siew Pao better than 奇美烧包. Egg tart so-so.
Definitely...
