Unusual!! How can the initial soup taste different than the refill soup?? And even if so, usually the first bowl will taste better... The soup obviously isn't the main thing here, but the first bowl tasted very flour-y 3/5, while the 2nd has more of ikan bilis taste (anchovies) 4/5. But on a raining day, I am a sucker for that. As for the ban meeting, it's a big bowl for 11rm! Ingredients were decent, am with the very bouncy fishball, average meatballs and ikan bilis that tasted more like salted fish in my opinion (to me, that's a plus point). The little tau kee (which I also ordered as a side, tasted more like a fishcake, and was meh). .while the noodles has the perfect q-ness to it, and tossed with the black sauce, it's actually a very above average ban mee, although I tasted better both in SG and msia. Overall, the rating is very close to a 4/5 and I almost wanted to deduct another 1 star for the chilli, as it didn't go well with the ban mee for me. Felt like the kind of chilli that goes better for dipping with BBQ chicken wings, although this is more tangy, and almost negligible spiciness. Didn’t want to feedback but was really angry at this place. Went this morning. We told the waitress one of the dry mee hoon kuey we want to separate the ikan bilis and she told us cannot. It’s either put or don’t put but cannot separate it. I don’t understand why it is so hard to separate it? She said this is due to HQ ruling. Then, we wanted to order coffee but she said Johor got water disruption, so no coffee but we can order milo or other drinks. If there is water disruption, why can make other drinks but not coffee??!!
