Visited Sapa Cafe after a Vietnamese friend highly recommended it for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and I was curious to see how it compared to the real deal.
I went for the hot stone beef pho, and honestly, it did taste authentic, though not quite on par with what you'd get in Vietnam. It reminded me more of the roadside pho stalls than restaurant-level pho—which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The soup was flavourful, but had a noticeable beefy/gamy aftertaste and was a little too sweet for my preference. That said, the ingredients were fresh and generous, which added to the overall experience.
What really stood out for me was the avocado smoothie. For just RM14, it felt like I was eating chunks of avocado rather than drinking it. Unlike in Singapore, where many stalls use minimal avocado and top up with milk or brown sugar, this smoothie was rich, pure, and creamy—a definite must-try for avocado lovers.
The ambience was alright, though the only downside was the presence of flies, which made it a little annoying to dine in peace.
Overall, it’s a decent spot for Vietnamese food in the area. I’m definitely keen to return and try the bun bo hue on hot...

🤤 I came across this place while looking for some good Vietnamese food, and it turned out to be a great find!
📒 The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes. The waiter who is Vietnamese, was friendly and spoke English, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
🐥 I decided to try banh xeo, steamed chicken and Vietnamese iced coffee. The banh xeo was quite authentic—though it would’ve been even better if the rice roll was thinner and crispier. The steamed chicken was fresh and flavorful, with a lovely hint of lime leaves and the portion was generous. As for the iced coffee, it was hands down the best part—rich, strong and absolutely delicious!
🌟 I’ll definitely be back to try their garlic fried prawns and other dishes. Just a note—they only accept cash or bank transfers for payment, so plan...
