Scissors Cut Beef Noodle — Restaurant in Johor

Drive passed this shop several times, I love Cathay beef noodles so I just go in and have a try.

The taste is more into China taste then the local Johor Bahru taste, new to me, though I traveled China b4, still new to me.

I ordered dry beef noodles, dry noodles is nice, I would rate it 8/10, I can just eat the noodles without the beef too.

The beef on soup, the beef is definitely scissors cut, I can hear the scissors in action while I’m waiting for my food, the size is bite size and pretty generous, I had 10 small scissors cut very little tendon beef that I’m very happy with, but of cos, I’m used to thin slices one that are easier to munched and swallow.

Soup based is also different, I find it delicious, not much stuff added into the soup base. I wish I had more. I would rate 6.5/10 and if I’m around this area again, I would pop in and maybe I will try other flavour of...

We ordered one dry beef noodle with tripe and one signature beef noodle soup. Was disappointed. The dry noodles are tasteless, just gobs of black sauce is doled on it. The soup is tasteless - no preserve veggies or peanuts or even a dash of lime to mask the musky smell. The beef balls are sticky - more starch than meat on it. Even a malay beef bakso tastes better than it. Go to Kluang for the better one. Dont waste time...

We just chanced upon this PRC beef noodle shop while walking to Grandma Ong’s for lunch after parking the car, so we decided to give it a try.

I ordered the tripe and beef noodle soup while my wife ordered the dry beef kueh teow. The taste was rather bland but the meat was cooked perfectly.
