Uncle Don's (Mount Austin, Johor Bahru) — Restaurant in Johor

My recent visit to Uncle Don's Restaurant left me and my group of 30 diners extremely disappointed and distressed due to a fraudulent charge on our bill amounting to RM10,003.65. Thankfully, we caught the error immediately, and the refund was processed on the spot. However, the way the situation was handled by the manager, Raj, was unacceptable.

Raj’s initial response to our inquiry about the overcharge was unprofessional and lacked accountability. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and offering an apology, he blamed us, the customers, for not being vigilant during payment. It’s important to note that the responsibility for the error lies with the staff member who input the incorrect amount, not with us.

Raj's rude and discourteous behavior, including publicly reprimanding the staff involved, only made the situation worse. Despite claiming that he apologized to the person who made the payment, it was not enough, considering the impact this incident had on all 30 diners. Such ego-driven and disrespectful behavior has no place in customer service.

The best part is I texted Uncle Don personally and they didn’t get back to me till now. Very unprofessional and terrible management.

Nice place to dine in and nice food , especially my both kids enjoyed whenever we go here. But when I went there recently ordered foods and Schweppes ginger ale , they send different brand of ginger ale which not as on menu. Ok la I don't mind but when I hold the can saw bubble came out tab and it's washed with water. I went to counter n asked why the can is opened before served , the supervisor or manager not sure he said actually the tab accidentally opened. Fine but at least your staff should informed me when he served on table not quietly just push the open can to us. When I asked this the guy at counter looks like not happy show me his sour face. Come on la if you as customer do prefer served used or opened tab with carbonated bubbling out when you're charged for it ? But I still willing to accept it but with the sour face the guy replace me with new can which I carried myself to table. Favourite place became disappointed served when we're willing to support and spend above RM1xx each time. Hope they won't repeat this in future. Anyhow nice place to enjoy your food...

One evening, as we pondered our dinner options, we stumbled upon Uncle Don's in the charming Mount Austin area. Our order encompassed a delightful array of dishes, from chicken and pork to fish and chips, lamb, pizza, and the intriguing Devil's curry. A standout for us was the incredible chili sauce, which added a fiery touch to our meal.

While the overall dining experience was enjoyable, the food itself left us with mixed feelings. It was good but not exceptional, falling somewhere in the realm of "just okay."

What truly elevated our visit was the fantastic ambiance. The restaurant exuded a vibrant and celebratory vibe, with numerous patrons marking birthdays and relishing their time here. This added to the overall enjoyment of our meal, creating a lively and convivial atmosphere that left a positive impression.
