Kelly's Cafe — Restaurant in Kedah

I went here after reading all the rave reviews, but sadly yet again, after travelling for 5 months through south east Asia, this is another one of those places that has had smoke blown up it by the hungover hip travelling bloggers who say it’s sooo amazing you must go, it’s the best food and coffee I’ve ever tasted…blah blah blah 🥱well I can tell you it’s not, as I had the big breakfast here and it was very underwhelming..! The beef sausages were tough, chewy and tasteless, the avocado was missing..? the eggs were like rubber after I asked them if they could flip my eggs for a couple of seconds so they weren’t snotty on top but still runny inside, the beans were cold, the toast had been shown the toaster, the hash brown was very greasy, and the mushrooms were literally just the storks sliced up which were also very tasteless and chewy. In fact the only thing on the plate I liked was the tomatoes which were cooked properly. The staff seemed friendly and smiley at first until they got bored and then started mucking about and chasing and shouting at each other in front of customers, very unprofessional..! The latte was ok but definitely not worth rushing back for OR the “best coffee on the island” I also had a orange juice which looked a strange colour and had the pips blended in it so I kept getting bits of pip in my mouth whilst drinking through my pasta tube straw..? Which incidentally made the juice taste of raw pasta..? Whoever came up with that idea needs to actually try it for themselves..! Before I tried the breakfast I was planning on going back to try some of the other dishes on the menu that looked and sounded nice, but after that poor effort of an overpriced and over rated tasteless breakfast with an unprofessional atmosphere I won’t be going back. And I did ask if the owner Kelly was about to complain, however she wasn’t there, so I begrudgingly paid and left,...

After following a recommendation from a charming young lady to come and try the all day breakfast and coffee, I ventured to Kelly's Cafe to see if her advice was sound. As usual, her advice was right on the money.

Kellly's Cafe has definitely got the best coffee on Langkawi. After living here 13years and searching for the holy grail of a lovely coffee (cappuccino or Latte - I tried them both, each equally brilliant), I have finally found a source of excellent coffee here on Langkawi. Kelly was trained in Sydney Australia and uses Australian fresh roasted beans. She has a spotless, professional espresso machine and the proof is in the tasting. All these attributes are displayed in the finished product. It is impossible to have only one coffee at Kelly's. Its simply too delicious.

Ohh by the way the food is also equally as brilliant and worth a return visit (regularly). Highly recommend the Skinny Breakfast with home made Australian beef sausages, with eggs, tomatoes, fantastic bread & jam with crisp salad a delightful dressing. The sausages are not over cooked so that the full flavour of the juicy beef and spices are enjoyed in every mouthful.....

I am thrilled to share my delightful experience at this remarkable restaurant. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by its inviting ambiance, surrounded by verdant trees and lush plants. The aesthetic of this place is not only pleasing to the eye but also makes it an Instagram-worthy spot for sharing on social media.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly their homemade sausage. The flavor profile was exceptional - a perfect blend of spices that left an unforgettable taste lingering on my palate. It is evident that they put considerable effort into ensuring their ingredients are top-notch and their recipes unique.

But what took me by surprise was the affordability of their menu. Considering the quality and portion sizes, it felt almost unbelievable how reasonably priced everything was! This place truly redefines value-for-money dining.
