The signature Penang Chendol is a symphony of textures and flavors. Each bowl is meticulously layered with smooth cendol (green rice flour jelly), shaved ice, and a generous drizzle of rich gula Melaka. The cendol, made from a blend of rice flour and natural green coloring, boasts a delicate springiness that melts harmoniously in your mouth. The gula Melaka, sourced from the finest palm trees, adds a deep and molasses-like sweetness that perfectly complements the refreshing ice. The bowl is further enhanced by a dash of creamy coconut milk, subtly balancing the sweetness with a hint of tropical tanginess.
But Penang Chendol is more than just a dessert; it's a cultural experience. The preparation of each bowl is a testament to the traditional methods and skills passed down through generations. The cendol is meticulously extruded through a sieve, creating the signature long, slender strands that dance playfully in the bowl. The gula Melaka is carefully caramelized over an open flame until it reaches a luscious consistency, imparting its characteristic depth of flavor.

Read moreFood White curry noodle/beehoon, Chee cheong Fun was fantastic please keep this up Cendol was also very nice and justify the price with the serving. Rojak - not enough peanuts and the kuah lack the prawn taste ABC - not recommended... ice is not fine enough and too much syrup, can't taste any milk at all. Not sweet.
Staff & service Definitely honest and in the best interest of customer. We ordered ala carte without knowing about the set deals and they helped us group our order for more savings. The offered a refund IMMEDIATELY (kudos to the boss) for a mistaken overcharge. Food was prepared well, no rushing and we enjoyed our time.
Ambience was good, aircond was cool for a very hot and sunny noon in AS.
The only holding back from 5 stars: ordering to be done outside the restaurant and i cannot imagine if there was a long queue. Suggestion: invest in a QR virtual menu system for ordering from tables / provide tablets like Sushi Kxxx if its too much to invest, simple pencil and paper with menu attached...
Read moreNewly opened Penang restaurant in Alor Setar. They serve variety of halal Penang noodles, Rojak and Cendol. Price is reasonable. The nasi lemak is green colored. Anchovy and peanuts are freshly cooked and crispy. Fried chicken was well cooked. I have tried the Penang Curry Noodle, it tasted like the actual Penang version, you can find cuttlefish, clams, tofu pok, inside. I like the Cendol very much, exactly like the original Penang Road stall's taste. The coconut milk is thick and creamy, added with the gula melaka, the combination just bring out the essence of Penang's Cendol. The Penang Road Teowchew cendol was one of my favorite dessert during high school. Every Sunday I would passed by the stall walking to Burma Road. It is my routine to stop by the Cendol stall and enjoyed one bowl of the icy creamy cendol. So happy to be able to find it...
