Read moreI craved for good tomyam, so I searched for tomyam at midvalley and found Amarin among the recommendation. Truthfully, Ive never know that Amarin serves thai food. I thought it is some Japanese or Chinese restaurant. I came here around 8.30pm on Saturday. We were greeted by the who guide us to our table.
The ambience is like Western restaurant, with dim light. The staff gave us the menu and we ordered the Tomyam seafood, the weeping tiger beef, prawn omelette, iced lemon tea and watermelon juice. There are not many customers around, hence we got our food and drinks after 5-10mins.
Everything is absolutely delicious! The portion for the tomyam, omelette and beef is huge, I believe it is made for 3 pax. We were really hungry cause last we ate is around 1pm. Eventho we are really hungry, we couldnt finish them cause of the huge portion.
Oh, and the female staff deserved a special mention due to how friendly she greets me and my partner while taking our order and during the time we made the payment at the cashier, other staffs are also kind and friendly. We finished eating at 9pm with a full stomach and a happy heart! We will come here again when we craved...
Read moreI recently had lunch at Amarin and found the food to be delicious but the overall experience quite peculiar. The green curry arrived within minutes after the waiter took our order, followed quickly by the deep-fried fish. Even the RM49 (for 2) Tom Yum, which was quite expensive, arrived almost instantly. Nothing was cooked but merely put together.
Four steamed rice cost RM20, and there was no free water provided. Given the high prices, I expected every dish to be cooked ala minute. While the speed of service was impressive, it made me wonder if each dish was truly prepared fresh. Additionally, the service could be better; it felt rushed and lacked the attentiveness expected at such price points. The restaurant was not busy I had to constantly shout out for attention.
Overall, the taste of the food did not disappoint – every dish was flavorful. However, the service left much to be desired. Would love to see more transparency in how the dishes are prepared and improvements in service to match the premium pricing.
