We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday with a memorable omakase experience that exceeded all expectations. Chef Kenny’s unique blend of traditional omakase with a subtle touch of fusion was absolutely brilliant. His friendliness and engaging personality added so much warmth to the evening. The menu was crafted with fresh, seasonal ingredients, prepared with genuine care and attention.

Taking on the chef’s experience course was a fantastic choice; Chef Kenny’s attention to every detail made each dish a unique part of an incredible gourmet journey. The entire team showed wonderful hospitality, and we felt truly taken care of from start to finish. We have no regrets—just excitement to return again for more. Environment was nice and modern compared to other omakase places. Service crew were friendly and attentive but they've got our orders wrong for our beverages, but its alright. We felt like the counter kitchen was overwhelmed with sushi chefs and they were like walking rounds and rounds. Secondly , the dishes served was under our expectation even though we ordered the cheapest menu. The first dish with the yam, it was a no. Secondly they've served us Amela tomato with dash jelly where I could get it at a lot of places. Then for the sushi wise, the fish selections was basic (a kami, chutoro, toro, amberjack etc) The chawanmushi was the worst one where it was tasteless and they used frozen scallops. We were just around the area and looking for something to eat, actually was looking for some local and simple Malay food, then we googled and saw this place (yeah, very local, Malay and simple). With the sun sitting on top of our head and we thought sashimi is not a bad choice and so we went.

We didn't have a reservation but it was not packed for lunch, my wife chose the cheapest 288 menu as she need to reserve her stomach for the durian battle in the afternoon, I chose the middle 488 menu.

Food quality and presentation was great and some of the matching was excellent.

I was very pleased that we chose Ao for our lunch...
