My recent visit to KBB Steak TTDI was unfortunately riddled with issues, making for a less than satisfactory dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the lack of service was apparent. There was no one to greet or seat us at the entrance, setting a somewhat disorganized tone for the afternoon.
This lack of organization continued at our table. We were seated at a long table, but place settings were completely absent. Even more surprising, our food began arriving before any plates or cutlery were provided. When they finally did arrive, they were presented in a stack, leaving us to awkwardly distribute them ourselves. This felt incredibly unprofessional, especially for a restaurant of this supposed caliber.
The issues with cutlery didn't end there. For the children, the "kids cutlery" consisted solely of a plastic knife. No fork or spoon was provided, and we had to specifically request them, which further delayed their meal.
The complimentary bread service was equally disappointing. For our long table, only one set of bread was provided. We then had to request that it be split onto two plates, which seemed like a basic courtesy that should have been offered without prompting. It would have been far more reasonable to provide at least two separate bread plates for a table of our size.
Beyond the cutlery and bread debacle, the restaurant was unable to fulfill any hot beverage orders due to a lack of hot water. This severely limited our drink options. Aside from bottled water, the only other available beverages were sugary drinks, leaving those seeking unsweetened alternatives with basically no other choices.
While the food itself had some redeeming qualities, the overall experience was significantly marred by the poor service. The lamb and ribs were highlights – the latter being particularly well-cooked with meat falling off the bone. The vegetables were also nicely prepared.
However, the mash potato, served in a container without a spoon, presented another practical challenge. The beef was average, and the smoked salmon was unfortunately not to our liking. The pasta, while eventually tasty, took an excessively long time to arrive. Nuggets for kids are spicy too.
The most significant issue was the lacklustre service. The staff clearly require more rigorous training to meet the standards expected of a restaurant like KBB Steak. From the absent greeting to the chaotic cutlery situation and the general lack of attentiveness, the service fell far short of expectations.
Overall, while some of the food was enjoyable, the numerous service failures and lack of basic amenities significantly detracted from the dining experience. I would be very hesitant to recommend KBB Steak TTDI in its...
Read moreSo we rolled into KBB Steak TTDI last night thinking, “Just a casual family dinner, no big deal.” Little did we know, we were about to embark on a steak adventure so epic it deserves its own Netflix series (working title: Steak Wars: The Juicy Awakens).
Enter our hero: Afiq, the server with the patience of a saint, the charm of a stand-up comedian, and the multitasking skills of a circus juggler. From the moment we sat down, Afiq welcomed us like we were about to join an exclusive steak fan club. He gracefully handled our endless questions — “Which steak is juiciest?” “Can this steak survive my dad’s terrible puns?” “Is there a steak that pairs well with my mom’s ‘just one more bite’ syndrome?” — all while keeping a smile so genuine, it should be bottled and sold.
Then came the steaks. Oh man, these steaks strutted onto our table like runway models — perfectly seared, tender, and practically shouting, “Eat me before I become a legend!” One bite and the whole table went silent. Even my cousin, the human nugget, dropped his chicken fingers mid-chew and gave a thumbs-up. That’s when I realized: this place is not messing around.
Meanwhile, Afiq was on a whole other level — like a steak whisperer. Extra napkins magically appeared whenever steak juice tried to stage a breakout. I’m convinced he’s got eyes in the back of his head or maybe a secret steak radar. At one point, I caught him juggling menus and plates like he was auditioning for the Steak Olympics.
By the end of the night, we were stuffed, happy, and seriously considering nominating Afiq for sainthood. Or at least bribing him with more visits to reveal his service secrets.
If you’re looking for a place where the steaks are mind-blowingly good and the service is so on point you’ll wonder if your server moonlights as a superhero, KBB Steak TTDI with Afiq on the floor is a must. Warning: your taste buds might throw a rager, and your diet will definitely file a formal complaint. Worth every single bite and belly rub!
P.S. If you see me talking lovingly to a steak someday, just know it’s...
