I would say one of the best nasi kandar in Klang Valley. I would give the food rating 6 stars if it was possible. We have visited this place couple of times on different time of the day and it never disappoints. Nasi kandar Gravy was the highlight of this place. The concoction of curries was on point and some had this slight smoky taste which made it stand out from other nasi kandar restaurants. Their tandoori was always juicy and tender and their mint sauce was quite a hit as it is different than other places we visited.

Only one time thing, which gave it a 3 star review, is the service. Service was good and fast all this while but our last visit it was quite disappointing. We had a table for 8 people, and once we finished our dinner, we ordered another round of drinks to continue chatting and catching up, as with other mamak/nasi kandar places. After the drinks came, and one of the waiters started to clean up all the plates even though the kids haven’t finished some of their food on their plate. Then they gave us a look, indicating us to hurry up. One of the waiters even asked us to finish the drinks within 5 minutes. We reminded them that the drinks just came and we haven’t taken a single sip out of it yet. I know there was a line outside queueing for table, but that’s how it is with a newly opened restaurants in KL and Klang Valley. You shouldn't treat your other patrons that way when we are still in the midst of our meals/drinks.

Nevertheless, we will give them a benefit of a doubt and still visit this place again since their food was amazing. Would update the review if the service gets better and we hope they their quality stays consistent for the...

been goin here lotsa time but today i had the most inconvenient experience ever. reached the shop at 935pm and ordered garlic naan ONLY for takeaway. which usually if u dine in ull get ur orders within 10mins.. but then 15mins later, i asked one of the waiter if my order is ready.. and he replied "suda order?" i said "suda, suda bayar.." and he said aa okay okay.. then i tgk die xde pon pg check ke ape.. so okay.. i pon tunggu je la lagi.. then lepas 5mins i pg cashier pulak tanye naan x siap lagi ke? then with an unfriendly face die tunjuk2 luar.. and am like huh?! he said pg luar tp i didnt see anything than i tanye la nape? pastu die bg sign suruh bg resit kat waiter.. and we walked outside ade table yg usually delivery ppl pick up foods..little that i know, naan tuh dah laaaamaaa dah siap and was left there.. pastu i kate la x ckp pon kene amik kat luar.. then i walked away la sbb perasaan da rasa mcm nk marah..

the waiting game is one thing.. tapi bgtau la nk amik food kat mane.. and org tanye jgnla rasa annoyed. plus saya pon bukan keje foos delivery yg lebey tau mane nk amik food bagai.. kite mana nk tau pick up food sama je mcm takeaway.. furthermore i duduk betul2 depan cashier.. xkan xley tgk apsal minah nih duduk lama xde pape atas meja.. conclusion, informla customer bila die bayar nnt makanan amik kat depan yer.. tht wud make lotsa difference..

am not the kind that complains much but today i just felt like why was i to blame for...

Restaurant is spanking new. Decor is upscale compared to a standard mamak restaurant. Food is similar if not better tasting compared to the Penang outlet. The cuisine is a mix of North and South Indian fare with a hint of fusion. Try the Milani (Rice or bread variety). I have to say the service is superb (quick, attentive, and customer focused). But if you are less predisposed to spicy foods, i suggest ordering two (2) drinks from the get go. The manager and crew are all hands on deck as they say. Avoid coming during peak hours if you’re driving. It’s likely that you wouldn’t be able to find a car park and the jam surrounding Kapitan is frustrating enough. Try to reach the restaurant just before dinner time (8pm) or earlier if you must. Or if you live nearby, i suggest you Grab it there instead so you will avoid the circus altogether and get straight to sampling the food. Maybe the maddening crowds wouldn’t be there that early. Que at the restaurant runs fast enough although it can reach Secret Recipe (the old Baba Nyonya Restaurant) during the peak. Customers come and go as quickly so no worries about standing in line for too long i think. I think they are not on the Grab/FoodPanda platforms yet so going there is the only option for now. I truly think Kapitan Tandoori House could give Mahbub (Bangsar) a run...

Embark on a culinary journey through the enchanted lands of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) and savor the mystical Tandoori Chicken Biryani. This dish, woven from the threads of two beloved classics of the Indian subcontinent, is a feast for the senses. The Tandoori Chicken, marinated with spices and roasted to perfection in a traditional clay oven, is layered upon the Biryani, a fragrant rice dish layered with spices and tender meats or vegetables. The flavors and aromas intertwine, casting a spell upon your palate and whisking you away to the heart of India. For those seeking to partake in this culinary wonder, Kapitan Restaurant beckons with open arms. Amongst the myriad of restaurants and hawker centers in TTDI, Kapitan Restaurant stands as a shining star, offering an unparalleled experience. As Diwali beckons, our Indian colleagues graciously recommended Kapitan for a midday feast. The service was exceptional, and the owner welcomed us with warmth and enchantment. We indulged in the Tandoori Chicken Biryani, pairing it with a steaming cup of Masala Tea, and basked in the flavors of the east. The value for money was unparalleled, and we would undoubtedly recommend it to anyone seeking a taste of authentic Indian cuisine.

Decent food, reminds me of what I used to enjoy back in Penang. Gravy seems slightly diluted but taste isn’t affected much so it’s fine. Tandoori, great as always. Even bought some as takeaway for dinner. Fries might need improvement though, but that’s not what I’m here for in the first place. If you don’t like ordering using QR code, good for you since there will be staffs attending to you. Though I’m not sure how long that will go on since I did see those QR codes on the table but it’s not functional when I tried scanning. Everything else is brand new including interior & setup (perhaps staffs to a certain extent too). So, might need to be patient during payment since they don’t have card terminal & only accept cash & QR code (but they scan instead of you). Latest update: They have terminal for card payments now. Also the area where you wash hands is inside a room, the door closed with two mixed bathrooms adjacent to each other, might cause confusion as I’d encountered fellow patrons not used to the setup. Latest update: They removed the door now. Still going to rate it 5 stars since the food tastes great, hope they stay consistent.

Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quite nice. Taste is nice, flavourful. The mix price for 1 chicken+1 vegi+rice will is rm12. With a drink around rm16+ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good. Fast. Didn't wait long for food and drinks to arrive. Environment ⭐⭐⭐ Nice Interior design. But some of the long chairs has dents in the cushion. Making it uncomfortable to sit on those uneven areas. Indoor and outdoor sitting available. My fav spot for lunch to satisfy the Indian food craving 🍽️.. not a big fan but this one’s exceptional .. My personal fav is Ghee rice, fried chicken and omelette .. sometimes they will have the squid roe which is really good but hardly available 🥹.. other menu Nan cheese w Tandoori Chicken.. Don’t forget to order Iced Bru coffee 🤤.. For all the Nasi Kandar lover out there is recommended too!All ordered dishes are delicious. Spicy but not hot. Come for the lamb, not disappointed. Fast service and very clean environment. Slightly pricey, make up for the ingredients and portion and equally important TTDI rental. Parking will be challenging during weekdays. DBKL very active, you know what I mean. Will be back.
