Husband ordered strawberry pie for my birthday. And we opt for self pick up at a specified time right before my birthday party. As it was difficult to get a parking, he waited in the car and I went to pick up the pie. When i arrived, i told the baker who was at the counter that i would like to pick up my pie. He looked rather confused, so i showed him the receipt that it has been paid for. He didnt say much to me, just nodded and said ok and went straight to the kitchen. Then the cashier came out to attend to me and I ordered coffee to go. After that, i sat down and waited. The cashier gave me my coffee and he too went straight to the kitchen. After a while, another guy came to the store and brought what looked like a base of a whole pie. At this point, both the baker and cashier came back to the counter. I heard the guy told the baker im sorry it was my mistake and all three of them went to the kitchen. I was occupied on the phone replying whatsapp msgs from guests who was coming to my party and realised that it has been half an hour and there is a possibility that all of them are at the back making my pie. Noone was at the counter i was waiting alone upfront. When another group came to the cafe, the cashier came to take their order and thats when i asked him why is it taking so long. He said that “they made a mistake with my order”, and they were making a new one for me.
Whilst i completely understand that human errors are simply unavoidable, I just couldn't comprehend how they managed the situation. 1) They did not own up to their mistake and should have told me about it earlier. This is just basic manners. 2) As a business establishment, they did not apologise and should have advised me how long the wait was going to be. No respect to customers and time. If i didnt ask, they would have just make me wait until the cake is done and pretend like nothing was wrong? Seriously disappointing.
If i would have known that i will have to wait, i could have used that time to run other errands around the area first! After the explanation by the cashier, i was seriously done waiting. I didnt have anything else to say to him. Mind you, my pregnant self could’ve just flipped and gave him a piece of my mind. But i didnt want this to spoil my mood for my birthday party. So i told my husband and asked him to deal with it. When my husband came, i stepped out to run other errands. After my husband complained, they gave him a small strawberry pie as compensation.
This is my honest experience with this place. I will be fair and i have to say that the strawberry pie was absolutely delicious. The berries were huge and definitely imported. The crust was good and the filling was even better. You can taste all the premium ingredients they used.
However, if im paying premium price rm330 for a premium pie. I do expect premium service too. Just like going to a five star hotel, i will be disappointed if i get a bed and breakfast...

Dear Baker Next Door,
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the experience I had with your store.
Approximately three days ago, I placed a pre-order for my mother’s birthday to be delivered on a specific date and time. Regrettably, the delivery did not meet the agreed-upon terms. Not only was the order not delivered to the correct location, but it was also not delivered at the designated time. Despite my repeated attempts to address this issue with the responsible party, I was met with inadequate responses and lack of resolution.
Upon contacting your store directly, I was shown a purported "proof of delivery," which, to my dismay, did not depict my residence in the background. It became evident that the order had been delivered to the wrong address. Despite this obvious error, I was displeased by the manner in which the blame was shifted onto the delivery personnel, rather than taking ownership of the mistake.
As a customer, I find it deeply concerning that such a fundamental error could occur, especially considering the premium price I paid for the order. While I understand that mistakes happen, the lack of accountability and the mere apology offered fall short of what I believe constitutes appropriate customer service.
I sincerely hope that this incident serves as an opportunity for your bakery shop to reassess its delivery protocols and customer service standards. As a customer, I trust that steps will be taken to rectify this situation and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Please pay attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you with a resolution the soonest...
Read moreGot interested in this cafe because of Ong Ai Leng. I know that it started out by selling tarts online and now they have a brick and mortar. So, I do have high expectation. But.. it’s not my first time eating tarts.
The tart shell is soggy and thick. The filling is… nothing special, not sure what taste it is, and it’s not something that i wanna put in my mouth again. But because I paid RM30+ each. I forced myself to eat it. But in the end, I… simply cannot. The fruits on top is fresh, like what others review. Erm.. sorry to say, you would be able to buy fresh fruits from supermarket.
Not hygiene. I don’t know why they don’t put the tarts in their display shelf, they pull it out and put on the countertop. Everyone just talk and point it. Oh well, I still ordered in the end.
Poor service. I asked what are the tarts. They say “this is strawberry, blueberry, mango…” So I asked what’s the difference between the two blueberries tarts. They said “this is seasonal. This is under the Epmemeral.” erm… it is obvious what’s strawberry and what’s blueberry. But.. what’s the tasting note? This brings back to my review on the filling. Perhaps they don’t even know the ingredients to share the tasting note.
Overall… I didn’t feel happy after having dessert. A feeling that I seek thru desserts. Overpriced, not worth. Reason that I spend my time to write this review is because it’s overrated. And do hope there are improvement, so that this nice space don’t go to waste.
Sorry for...
