I’ll rate 2 stars for service. The experience began with no one addressing us when we came to the front door. (We made a booking in advance). The service crew finally came and checked our names but just stares at us without directing us to our table until we ask how do we go and where do we seat. (It was our first time there and we do not know where to walk to our outdoor seat nor which seat is for us). During order taking, the crew took our orders fine however with lack of manners somewhat like he just doesn't like his job. During serving, as we sat outside i notice many of the crews kick the door to open it as their hands are full. (There’s other ways to do this such as using their shoulders or backs like I've seen in other places). One drink order was also forgotten until we asked. Next, it’s a little hard to get their attention when we need something as they’re always busy (as shown in picture taken when we were trying to ask for the bill) totally understandable but i think its a lot of attention giving to one phone issue. The foreign service crew did a better job in helping us notifying them. Lastly, (short context we were there to celebrate a birthday hence we brought in two cakes) we just wanted to have one cake brought out but i went to check at the counter due to some gut feeling that they’ll bring the wrong cake and i was right that they brought out the wrong cake. I corrected them nicely and they were apologetic which I’m fine. However, what ticked me off is when i ask if everything is ok when they were keeping the wrong cake, one of the Malaysian service crew had the tendency to sarcastically joke with me that its not okay. I reacted like i just hear it wrongly and he replied no its nothing and was scolded by the other peers. (On a further note, most of this issue face are from just the one guy which i wouldn’t want to point out to avoid any negative consequences for him)
Don't get me wrong, not all the service crews here are bad, most of the foreign workers serving us are good actually. Just that one particular Malaysian worker.
However, i would give 4 stars for the food. It was good and delicious. Just a little on the pricier side for its portion. Peking duck skin was slightly crispy with meat serve on the side. Duck soup was ok (duck taste in like an abc soup broth). Siew yoke and char siew was good with a delicious chili to go with on the sides. Fried rice and vegetables taste alright similar to most Chinese restaurants just portions of most dishes are a little small for its price.
All in regards, would have given total 4 stars only if the service provided can match the ambience and food. Has opportunities for improvement with the right coaching, supervision and...
Read moreFood was really good. We have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is super delicious. 1 star is for the limited seating and poor queue management. We are a big family. Called to make reservation on a Saturday but was told that they were fully booked. No problem. We decided to still walkin to try our luck. Put down our name on the waiting list before 6pm and only got a call that a table was available at 8ish pm. 2 hours waiting time. We didn't book ahead for a big group so this was our bad and I don't blame them for their good business. What really disappointed was my experience with one of their staff. I visited on Friday and talk to their staff to check the table availability for Sunday as i plan to dine in with some friends. I understood from the staff that on that particular Sunday, the upstairs space for big group was available but we forgot put down our name . On Sunday, i called to check if the space was still available. The guy who answered the call told me yes. I then asked if I can reserve the space as we are a group of 18 (including babies). The guy insisted that no reservation is allowed and we have to walk-in. He told me that the space is still available as we speak but he couldn't reserve the space for me even tho i promised that I would be there in 15mins. I would be more than happy to put down a deposit to secure the booking if I have to. But nope. The guy just refused my reservation even tho the tables were available. Dear owner, if you are reading this, this kinda policy or reservation system is really bad for your business. We are a group of 18 ppl. By taking our reservation (knowing that we are just 15mins away), it's a confirmed sales of 18 pax dining at your restaurant. It also put less stress in your front of house staff and the overall operations team to have to seat/serve 18pax in your small restaurant. At the end myself and my 17 guests decided to spend our money at another restaurant where the restaurant manager happily made table arrangement of 18 ppl for us prior arrival. Extremely disappointed on how your team...
Read moreQuite a large restaurant space that offers both indoor and outdoor seating- dog friendly of course! Interior design is modern, simple and stylish with lofty high ceilings, its contemporary furnishings, large glass windows and layout. However, the service is sub par with staff struggling to communicate regarding enquiries about the food or even just to conversate normally. Instead, we were advised to use the QR code for food photos (which later she found out there are no reference picture for us to see) and the query was left unanswered and excused as ‘maybe change already’ and us just opting for safer choices- char siew, stir fry veges, tofu and a noodle dish. No free wifi is provided so as a visitor to Malaysia I couldn’t use the QR code menu. Fortunately, they had physical menus as backup. Food was very average and portions are small- nothing to crow about. For four dishes we paid just over $120RM. Only thing going for this place is the convenience of it’s location as it’s right next to the park/ playground and many dog owners can bring their pets and families here for a meal after being in the park. The outdoor seating would be the highlight of my dining experience. Being in the fresh air, I was never bitten by mosquitoes!- I’m usually a...
