Worst service experience. Had lunch with my 6yo daughter, we had order & foods came, she suddenly not well and has sensation of vomit after few bites on her tomato pasta. I quickly grabbed a plastic bag from my tote, put plastic bag under her jaw to hold the trash of her threw up.I quickly finished all the foods,my 6yo daughter still felt hungry after 1st round of vomit. She then had a few bites of only bread, then she threw up 2nd round in plastic bag.Quickly called check & pay then wanna go,she had 3rd sensation feeling wants to vomit while I stood up and quickly wanna bring her go off from restaurant, she can't help it,I placed plastic bag under her jaws again, restaurant staff then came up to us,told me my daughter can't throw up at the restaurant area eventhough we are using plastic bag as this may affecting other customers,2 staff wants me to rush her to the toilet of 70meter away, then only I can let her vomit, this is a dumb remarks coming from a human and an adult, anyone knows the vomit sensation is something no one can control and cannot hold it,adult also cannot do how can they expect I must instruct my daughter yo hold her vomit sensation.Complained to restaurant supervisor Hosen,he didn't aware this incident as he was at the front part of restaurant,we were at open area facing Desapark Lake.Hosen told me the staff are new,but I insisted they should educate them well, this ain't professional. Further insists get contact of GM of The Social f&b group, called him and made formal complaint.Worst ever experience and won't patronised this place anymore.NO 5 stars, only has 5 thumbs down👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Update: from owner reply, made me feel won't be coming back. Seems like they can't understand human language, pls bear in mind the vomit sensation came spontaneous and uncontrollable at the moment it happened, it applies to adult too so don't expects it even on a kid, pls use your brain if you have one before comment. Fyi- I took the initiative to call the GM,your bad handling restaurant won't even have the decency to call. Will ban this one forever, and words go around. Few other restaurants we patronised next doors are giving better service experience than this one, we can ban other sister restaurants/cafes belongs to this...
Read moreThey have really good cocktails, their mojitos are really good.
However, I ordered weeping tiger beef and was extremely disappointed. The beef was over cooked and dry, they didn't put the gravy on the beef, the egg fried rice tasted bad so I asked for an exchange because personally everytime I do dine in at Social, I'll order this meal. It's one of my favourite at Social Bangsar and never once had any issue there.
My experience with their service here is a mixed where I'm happy with their wait staff, including their trainee but not their manager. His poor way of handling my food exchange request was disappointing. He admitted with the dry meat but that's about it. And when I personally told him that it doesn't even look appetizing since the fried rice tasted like tumeric and oil instead of egg fried rice, he disagreed. I even told him that I'd like the sauce/gravy on the beef and he said that's not the standard. To which I showed him the picture on their menu and he told me that the picture was photoshopped. I disagreed and told him that I've always ordered at Bangsar and they do put the sauce on the beef. In my opinion, this is a dangerous statement because you're admitting to false advertising by saying that it's photoshopped.
In the end they did change my meal, where I asked for a medium cooked beef but still received well done but it wasn't as dry and chewy so I took it and didn't want to make more fuss. They did put the gravy on the beef as requested. Their rice was still not as good. Slightly better but not good enough so I didn't finish it.
Overall, I don't think I'll ever come to any other social except bangsar...
Read moreI used to be a loyal customer of The Social, dining there regularly and always ordering the same rare ribeye steak, with fries swapped out for eggs. I had made this request so often that some of the staff remembered my preference without needing to ask.
But one day, that simple and familiar request was suddenly declined by the head chef himself (that middle-aged man with gelled hair, often heard speaking loudly from the kitchen into the dining area, sometimes mocking his own staff within earshot of guests). His coarse and abrasive voice frequently disrupted the otherwise pleasant atmosphere, especially when seated near the front of the restaurant.
I asked the staff to double-check, as this wasn’t a new or unreasonable request. The staff returned with a helpless look, clearly unable to do anything about the chef’s new decision.
The incident happened a few months ago. I left and have never returned since that day. I’ve also declined invitations from friends and family who suggested dining there as I simply can’t bring myself to support a place where respect for both customers and staff is so easily cast aside at the whim and fancy of a head chef who behaves as though the rules change to suit his mood.
I had hesitated to write this review at the time, but after reflecting on it and still feeling the same disappointment months later, I realise it’s only fair to share the experience.
This is how a business loses not only a loyal customer, but also the trust and goodwill that ripple far beyond...
