What a horrible experience we encountered in your midvalley outlet. We arrived around lunch time noting that outlet was quite empty. Minimal staff and were served by a person named Ryan. Service was very nonchalant and during the scooping of condiments, it was done sloppily which was not as per other BB outlets where only 2 of our 3 party table was given the pumpkin as it was finished. Assuming it would be refilled later on we were waiting for the rice and curry to be served.
No communication on what's the hold up.. Once rice and curries were served, again needed to ask for papadam to be provided. We kept trying to flag people down to help us with the papadam and got the silent treatment, one other staff even just flashing the palm at us, asking us to wait as they had "other things to do".
When serving the fish and squid, Ryan also felt the need to serve the dishes in between patrons who are sitting together, disrupting the meal.. rather than going through areas of the table where there is space which is I believe down to poor training. When service is seen as being poor, generally it's due to a overload of customers and understaffing. While it was definitely not overcrowded, I did also notice the staff playing with their phones etc which was definitely disappointing considering the level of service that was available.
We were not the only table to be complaining of the service and we overhead many others who voiced disapproval at the counter when paying. It really seems obvious why MV outlet has such a big difference in business compared to the Gardens outlet.

Read moreBananaBro is definitely a place that you go for consistency in terms of food quality. It's a no brainer for office workers who want to have lunch here. Unfortunately, the visit today was a major letdown.
I know it's 2024, and perhaps the owners have an aggressive KPI to hit. But don't get me wrong, this is a classic case of a top down management approach where staff members are usually forced to do things that don't make sense, even for them, so I don't blame the wait staff. In a sense, we were literally chased out the restaurant.
Yes, I understand it's the lunch rush hour and you want to maximise profit (but at the expense of customer satisfaction?). We were not asked once but three times whether we were finished with our food, even though we were just about done. In the end, we lost our appetite and decided to get up and leave. It would be a different story if we just sat around chit chatting, but we had like one/two spoonful of rice left, even then, from the actions/demeanour of the wait staff, it was evident that they couldn't wait to clear our table for the next group.
Would I ever come back? Probably, but definitely not...
Read moreWe had unpleasant experience here as well as what other reviewers said. 6 of us came here for a light dinner before we drive back to our hometown . So we just ordered 3 sets of banana leaf to share among 6 of us . But we did order a few Ala carte food like sotong , petai , prawn , vegetable and chicken . The staff said we can’t refill anything at all if we are sharing . But we just want to order extra white rice and we are willing to pay for it as the rice served on the banana leaf is very little . I guess they know we are sharing that’s why they just give us a small scoop of rice . They said we can’t order extra rice which I doubted about it and I asked again . Thank God they allowed it If not I would make a complaint there . The food quality is very low and it’s not fresh . The chicken varuval is so spicy and most of it are bones instead of meat . The petai dish is so spicy as well . And the staff here are not efficient and we have to keep calling them for order and cleaning the place . I think the management should train the service staff more efficient and attentive to customers . And the place here is not very clean ....
