This cosy restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The spread for lunch is excellent, lots of vegetables and they also serve chicken, mutton and fish . The vegetables served here are not usually found in other restaurants. For Indians, who are familiar with ' vala thande, vallarai..these vegetables are served in a very appetising manner here. The food here is also free from' ajinomoto'.The price is decent .This restaurant is situated just in front of Subramanian temple in Brickfields. The ambience is also very soothing and cosy. The decor though simple has a delightful feel. You will actually feel at home here. . The restaurant's idiyapam goreng.or. fried stringhoppers is truly a must try. Once you taste it, you will be hooked. The restaurant's owner Mr. Murali is a soft spoken, charming young man . The service is wonderful Im always here. Whenever I step into Ceylon Flavours..I feel , Im at home enjoying my mother's home cooked meals...and Im not exaggerating. If you haven't been to this restaurant, you are truly missing something wonderful. Go check out, this restaurant and get a taste...
Read moreRegularly came here before due to the tasty food. However today i had the worst experience here and vow not to come here ever again.
Staff were rude, and got very defensive.
Once, on our previous visit we asked why there was a price different on different occasions that we came eventhough ordering the same choice of food. The staff at the time explained the price and we paid our food as per charged.
Today as we just sat down at the table and calling staff to order our drinks, a male staff came (and claim to be the owner of the restaurant), rudely commenting our group as being difficult just because we tried to clarify on the price different during our previous visit.
He was saying it in a very rude manner, and loudly infront of other patrons. We just sat down at the time and felt so clueless and embarrassed by the experience. Mind you, the previous visit was 2 months back. And the fact thay we just sat down and got verbally attacked, really put me off.
Sorry, but never...
Read moreI came for lunch yesterday with my colleague and as usual took a few vegetables and ordered side dishes as well. The side dishes were shark fish puttu, mutton perattal & dry anchovies sambal. Their veggies were not too bad but still below average, their shark fish puttu was ok but a bit salty. Anchovies was too dry without anything much, just fried anchovies, onions and curry leaves. The mutton was the worse among all, do total put off for us, tasteless without spiciness and salt, not sure whether the chef overlooked or forgot or there are other reasons. We hardly took more than two cubes of it, the rest we left it. Payasam was ok but was on the sweeter side. Total damage was RM 68 for two of us including morru ice. Try to improve on your lunch buffet dishes and add more...
