On a whim, I decided to stop here instead of Sentral station on my return from Ipoh on the ETS. I had briefly stopped here on the way to Ipoh the day prior, a good 45 years since my last visit, and decided that I must have a look on my return.
What amazing memories this visit brought back!
The station hasn't changed much, just aged with little maintenance. Both the architecture and building construction of days gone by have stood the test of time, probably much better than any modern building. The Moorish style architecture still elicits appreciative inspection and awe.
The building functions well as a railway station as it was designed to be. It's a pity that the building could not be better kept or more uses found to maintain this iconic Kuala Lumpur landmark.

Hubback, completed 1909), pre-date Kuala...
Read moreHello everybody. If you want to see a historical architecture during the British reign in Malaya before the independence, then this is one of the buildings that is still being preserved and utilised till date. This was our country first railway station in Kuala Lumpur city centre to head up north towards Thailand and south towards Singapore followed with many beautiful states along the route. Although we now have KL Sentral for all of the main hub railway transportation, this station will still create nostalgic memories for most passengers who has been here previously. You can now board on the ETS train heading up northern states from this station or the komuter train for internal city trips. I hope my shared information will help tourist to learn more on our country heritage and...
