Disappointed. Came in around 7:50PM with a warm welcome. And I guess their service ends there. My friend came first for berbuka. I came in sometime later after work. Asked the barista to have someone take my order. He responded. Waited for quite a while. No one came. Mind you there were only few tables with customers. Its basically NOT PEAK HOURS AT ALL at least for this particular premis at that time. Called the waiter who happen to take order from nearby table whom customers came even later. The waiter came after some time. Took my order. And there you go. My friend went for prayer while I waited and waited. Until the next table got their meals, finished their meal and even paid for their meal, I havnt gotten mine. I was suprised. When I asked the person who cleared the table, They got some discussion. The same waiter that took my order checked the system and simply said, ‘oh takde’. No apologies at first. Only came twice and asked if I still want the order. Absurd! (He did apologised the third time he came to me.) The whole time the crews where here and there, NONE of them asked me if I’ve gotten my meal. I was seated right infront of the barista. NONE have the urgency to check on customers. Why I said this? Because they dont have much customer at that time. The waiter didnt even come back to confirm his order for his customer. Didnt even care after taking order. I think his job is only write orders. Write2 on a piece of paper, then what happens next is not my problem i guess? Third time he came only apologised. They did offer to make my the pizza in 5minutes if i still wants it. Nope. They think I live there to wait another? They did offer to pay for my meal. Thats not even mine. I paid for my friends. And walked out with empty stomach. Maybe not my rezeki. But why I write this is because i heard good reviews of food. But your service really need tremendous serious improvement. Most restaurants I went to they will always come back to confirm if orders has been successfully delivered or if the food any good? Like this. Why am I so disappointed? Because its not even peak in your restaurant. And your service have no urgency for customer. Your crews can do better. Will I...
Read moreThe first time I tried Christine's, I ordered the seafood aglio olio. It came overly salted. So much so that I could not finish even half of it. However, it was a tiring day and we did arrive just before the last order for the evening. So I brushed it off as purely a kitchen mistake and left it at that.
We came back for a second time as we were craving for pasta. I ordered the creamy soft shell crab pasta, and this time, it was under salted! I then ask for a cheese grater but the waiter said it comes with an extra charge. It felt a bit ridiculous to charge for it considering the price of the meal. I understand that cheese can be expensive. Perhaps the waiter can grate the cheese themselves when customers ask for it so they can control the amount used.
Also, when we were waiting for our food to arrive, the customer next to our table started blasting their tiktok/ social media videos for everyone to hear. It was loud, rude and extremely disrespectful for everyone else. Despite the disturbance, the staff did not do anything to confront them.
At the end of our dinner, One of the waiters came and asked about our food and I told him about mine. He nervously chuckled and said that they reduce the amount of salt to fit the palate of most of the customers. He quickly took the plates and left before I could say anything further. It made me feel unheard and that they were only asking as part of the training but had no intention for rectifications when there are actually issues.
Another thing to note, the banquette bench was stained the first time we dined and it was still stained during my second visit.
I had hoped that my dining experience at Christine's could have been better but so far it has been less than...
Read moreChristine Bakery was an unexpected delight during our visit to Mid Valley. We’d heard great things, so naturally, we had to try it out and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoints!
We ordered the Truffle Crozza, Margherita Crozza, and a Beef Carbonara, which our amazing waiter, Waqar, kindly turned into a Mushroom Carbonara to accommodate our vegetarian diet. A huge shoutout to Waqar for being so accommodating, attentive, and ensuring we had a dish we could enjoy service like that really makes a difference!
Now, let’s talk about the food. The Truffle Crozza was indulgent and aromatic, with just the right balance of earthy truffle flavor and cheesy goodness. The Margherita Crozza was a classic done right light, fresh, and comforting, perfect for a simple yet satisfying bite. The Mushroom Carbonara was creamy, hearty, and packed with umami from the mushrooms.
And then there was the Garlic Bagel with Cream Cheese. It was everything you’d want in a bagel crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with a bold hit of garlic that paired perfectly with the smooth, tangy cream cheese. Simple, yes, but executed to perfection. It’s the kind of dish that leaves a lasting impression.
The ambiance of Christine Bakery was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed lunch or even just a coffee and pastry break. It’s one of those places that makes you want to linger a little longer, just soaking in the vibe.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Delicious food, exceptional service from Waqar, and a warm atmosphere—it’s safe to say Christine Bakery has earned a spot on our go-to list. If you’re in Mid Valley and craving something comforting yet refined, don’t miss out...
