I have visited this restaurant a few times, and won 6 cash vouchers in one of their festive contest some time back. Yesterday it was my third time using the cash voucher. I asked for bill after my meal and politely presented the voucher for payment. But I was suddenly questioned by the lady that seemed like the captain/restaurant manager why I did not present the voucher before placing my order. I was surprised a little as I was told by the order taking waiters before I only need to present the cash voucher when I want to make payment during my previous two visits. I explained this to the restaurant manager, she then walked away. After a while she came back with my receipt and told me in an annoying raised volume that I was not doing the right thing by not presenting the voucher before ordering. And she demanded me to show her which staff was giving me that piece of advice because that is wrong and not following SOP blah blah blah. And she needs to be answerable if anything goes wrong, the management will come after her if we don’t follow SOP. Seriously, the message could have been conveyed in a much nicer way. Although I spent using a cash voucher from your contest, it did not warrant you the rights to be rude to me as if we were cheapskates coming for free meal. Asking me to point out the staff whom gave me the wrong instructions is super duper inappropriate in a quiet dining environment where there were other customers still having their meals. Also telling me no one is going to admit their wrongdoing if you ask them is seriously none of my business. I am not interested to interfere your internal affairs, and by saying all these words you have humiliated me as a customer as well as your own staff. I applaud the customer service attitude of this restaurant manager or captain, whoever she is. My wonderful night and the good dinner was totally spoiled by this...
Read moreI am absolutely outraged at the discriminatory treatment my wife and I received at Grandmama's Restaurant in Pavilion KL. Today during lunchtime, my wife and I were told to make the payment at the counter, while a nearby Chinese family was allowed to make their payment at the table. This double standard treatment is completely unacceptable and demonstrates the restaurant's discriminatory practices.
What makes this even more unacceptable is that the restaurant had enough staff to accommodate all customers equally, yet they still chose to discriminate against us. This is simply unacceptable in this day and age, and it shows that Grandmama's Restaurant has no regard for treating their customers with respect and dignity.
To make matters worse, the staff's manner was also very poor. My food was placed on the table without any care, which is a clear indication of the restaurant's lack of professionalism and attention to detail.
It's extremely disappointing to see that the restaurant not only practices such discrimination, but also fails to take appropriate actions to address it. The staff need to be trained better to treat all customers equally and with respect, regardless of their ethnicity or background.
I strongly urge anyone thinking of dining at Grandmama's Restaurant to reconsider and take their business elsewhere. This type of discriminatory behavior should not be tolerated, and the restaurant needs to take immediate action to address it before they lose even more customers due to their...
