Jeni, one of the waitresses or assistant manager or etc very rude attitude towards customer ! we, five adults + 1 infant (5-month-old) informed her that we need a larger round table to fit in the stroller (to place at the side, corner), due to we are a medium size family dine in she replied that her restaurant SOP is not allowed stroller to 'park in' the cafe and 'have to' place it at outside of the cafe, so shall my baby to be arranged a baby chair for me a restaurant staff whom is so making sense by asking such question ?! 1. customer not allowed to place the stroller inside the cafe and how do the customer dine in then ?? 2. is this a common sense question out from a cafe / restaurant staff which stroller unable to place at the seat and must put outside, since the restaurant is only allow baby chair ??? 3. and this baby is an infant not a toddler ! is she can sit in the baby chair ??? THIS is what I heard first time ~ stroller cant place beside the table when there is an infant baby !!! so, the diner have to hand carry the baby and eat ??? ALRIGHT, IF SO, WHY do I witnessed another table of customers were putting the stroller beside the table and the TODDLER was sitting on the adult chair ??? Is GRANDMAMA to be taught to treat each customer unfairly and unjustly ??? infant baby CANT bring in stroller to place the baby toddler CAN place the stroller at the side of the table and the toddler sitting on an adult chair ????? If you're looking for a Malaysian dining experience with a modern twist right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Grandmama’s at Pavilion is worth a visit. I tried several dishes during my visit: Beef Kuey Teow – absolutely delicious! The flavour was rich and the beef was tender. A must-try. Nasi Ayam Istimewa – the herb rice was quite mild, but the chicken was well-marinated and tasty. Satay Ayam – although the taste was good, the portion size was noticeably small. Shrimp & Chicken Noodles – essentially hor fun noodles, served in a comforting, flavourful broth. Overall, the food quality is commendable and well-prepared. While the satay portion could be improved, the rest of the dishes made up for it. Pricing is mid-range and fairly reasonable, with portions suitable for one person. For those curious, I’ve attached a copy of the receipt for reference as a general price guide — affordable considering the location and food quality. The restaurant environment is open, clean, and well-lit, providing a pleasant atmosphere to dine in. Customer service was friendly and attentive throughout my visit, which added to the positive experience. In conclusion, Grandmama’s at Pavilion is a great spot for a casual meal that reflects Malaysian flavours. It’s easily accessible, affordable, and offers a decent selection of local favourites.

I dragged my friends through KL to find Grandmama’s because I heard they had the best Laksa in KL. I am a Laksa connoisseur and have not been able to find a good one since arriving in Malaysia. We were staying at Park Royal Collection near Bukit Bintang and it was about a 12 minute walk to get to Grandmama’s from there. The aesthetic of the restaurant is great with a huge motif of a grandmother riding a vintage motorbike and very clean, elegant decor. We took a look at the large menu (even though I already knew what I was getting) and I ordered my Curry Laksa for 18.90 RM (about $6 AUD!) I also ordered a Coconut Shake because I figured the Laksa would be spicy! The Laksa came out quickly and looked AMAZING with beautiful thick Hokkien noodles (I hate when Laksa is served with vermicelli), big spongey pieces of fried tofu, crunchy bean curd and all the other yummy toppings. My first bite/slurp told me that the reviews were correct and this was indeed one of the best Laksas in KL. I polished off that bowl so quickly (and I’m not normally a big eater) The serving size was generous but not so big that you feel guilty for not finishing it. It wasn’t overly spicy/hot which suited me because I like to be able to taste my food! I will be going back to Grandmama’s again before we leave 😍

I have visited this restaurant a few times, and won 6 cash vouchers in one of their festive contest some time back. Yesterday it was my third time using the cash voucher. I asked for bill after my meal and politely presented the voucher for payment. But I was suddenly questioned by the lady that seemed like the captain/restaurant manager why I did not present the voucher before placing my order. I was surprised a little as I was told by the order taking waiters before I only need to present the cash voucher when I want to make payment during my previous two visits. I explained this to the restaurant manager, she then walked away. After a while she came back with my receipt and told me in an annoying raised volume that I was not doing the right thing by not presenting the voucher before ordering. And she demanded me to show her which staff was giving me that piece of advice because that is wrong and not following SOP blah blah blah. And she needs to be answerable if anything goes wrong, the management will come after her if we don’t follow SOP. Seriously, the message could have been conveyed in a much nicer way. Although I spent using a cash voucher from your contest, it did not warrant you the rights to be rude to me as if we were cheapskates coming for free meal. Asking me to point out the staff whom gave me the wrong instructions is super duper inappropriate in a quiet dining environment where there were other customers still having their meals. Also telling me no one is going to admit their wrongdoing if you ask them is seriously none of my business. I am not interested to interfere your internal affairs, and by saying all these words you have humiliated me as a customer as well as your own staff. I applaud the customer service attitude of this restaurant manager or captain, whoever she is. My wonderful night and the good dinner was totally spoiled by this...

I am absolutely outraged at the discriminatory treatment my wife and I received at Grandmama's Restaurant in Pavilion KL. Today during lunchtime, my wife and I were told to make the payment at the counter, while a nearby Chinese family was allowed to make their payment at the table. This double standard treatment is completely unacceptable and demonstrates the restaurant's discriminatory practices.

What makes this even more unacceptable is that the restaurant had enough staff to accommodate all customers equally, yet they still chose to discriminate against us. This is simply unacceptable in this day and age, and it shows that Grandmama's Restaurant has no regard for treating their customers with respect and dignity.

To make matters worse, the staff's manner was also very poor. My food was placed on the table without any care, which is a clear indication of the restaurant's lack of professionalism and attention to detail.

It's extremely disappointing to see that the restaurant not only practices such discrimination, but also fails to take appropriate actions to address it. The staff need to be trained better to treat all customers equally and with respect, regardless of their ethnicity or background.

I strongly urge anyone thinking of dining at Grandmama's Restaurant to reconsider and take their business elsewhere. This type of discriminatory behavior should not be tolerated, and the restaurant needs to take immediate action to address it before they lose even more customers due to their...
