I had heard many bad reviews about Kaara Saaram Restaurant, and even my close friends mentioned that the food was disappointing. Still, after some time, I decided to visit personally to experience it myself — and honestly, it turned out to be a very disappointing dining experience. From the moment we entered, there were about 4–5 staff members standing around chatting, yet no one attended to us. We waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone brought a menu or took our order — that was the first frustration. After placing our order, we waited another 30 minutes for the food, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded. When our Briyani Pottalam arrived, it was a shock — it was served with raw banana leaves, not grilled or sealed as it should be. I’ve never seen it presented this way before. The raita was another huge letdown — extremely diluted, like 90% water and only 10% yogurt, with no taste at all. The Satti Sorru had white rice chunks throughout and wasn’t mixed properly. As for the fried squid rings, it was beyond disappointing — a very small portion for RM28.90, and the squid was hard, rubbery, and had a bad smell. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The total bill came to about RM80, and honestly, I could have enjoyed a much better meal at other nearby restaurants for the same amount. If you don’t have passion and love for cooking, please don’t run a restaurant — customers pay for quality, not to be disappointed. I truly wanted to support this restaurant since it seemed quiet, but I left completely unsatisfied.

(Non-Veg)..Claypot Indian restaurant, Located strategically at the Main Street of Brickfields (right beside Shine Beauty). Welcoming staffs & environment. Worth every penny spent here. 1stly when we entered the restaurant the smell of curry was really inviting. I was literally waiting eagerly to taste their curry because of the aroma. Ordered kizhi parotha, rice & mutton curry. The dish was finger licking good. Mutton was soft and the curry was authentic. Will definitely come back to try other dishes. My mouth is still watering while writing down this review. The service was slightly slow. One biggest drawback was, there is no teh Tarik or teh ice in this restaurant. I hope the owner reads this comment and rectify this issues. 🙏🏾 Price was moderate. Can pay via cash, QRpay & Touch&Go. Kids friendly restaurant. There’s a parking lot behind this restaurant (RM5 per hour)

I tried their mutton thiruvizha sapadu with a side of fried squid—an absolute must-try! The mutton curry was so good, it instantly took me back to my mum’s kitchen. I also had their mooru, and wow, it hit all the right notes—refreshing and flavorful. The combination of bold spices and comforting flavors made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a meal that feels like a warm hug from home, this is it! PS: I went back for the second time and had the mutton thiruvizha sapadu again—still as amazing as the first time! This time, I added a side of fish fillet, but honestly, it was disappointing. The fillet was pretty bland and could’ve used more seasoning. Dropping a star on the food just for the fish fillet.

The waitress - to be honest, the waitress don't have common sense at all. We are complaining to one of the waitress that our food is tasteless and lack of salt, and that guy literally put a small bowl of salt on our table and asking us to sprinkle some salt on top of our "thiruvizha sapadu"and eat. I'm like totally speechless of his act. Then he said, "I'm new staff here". Then, they changed our food, a lady waitress served the food so rude and literally the curry spilled on my friend's hand and his white shirt. I'm just curious to know, do these people don't have common sense to say a Sorry for what they did? If you hired new staff, educate them how to act/take decision if customer complain. Simple basic common sense.

Drinks - in the menu card, they mentioned coconut water and definitely we might think it comes in a big mug or the whole one (biji) because the price is RM7.50 and we bought 2 of it, but they served two bottle of 150ml/250ml coconut water. Seriously? Adding more, they served limau ice and limau sirap ice in a plastic cup, so you charging us so much and you are not affordable to buy glass cup/mugs to serve?

The surrounding - I don't understand why loud music/songs playing there as we come with friends or family and we wanna have some time with them to talk and gather, but this kind of music and sounds with high volume totally irritating us.

Forks and spoons - We order kottu parotta, and the waitress served with 2 forks instead of fork and spoon. And all the waitress wearing mask and inside the restaurant is too dark. So we asked another waitress to bring a spoon as previous waitress overlooked. The waitress literally asked us who is the waitress provided 2 forks and we kept silent for few seconds as how to identify that person as it's too dark inside and every waitress wearing a mask.

Most of us preferring other community restaurant/stall because of this kind of services provided by our our community and the price. Look at other community/races restaurant or even a stall, they might provide better services and reasonable price. Please provide a good service and people will come over and over to your restaurant. Hopefully you guys improvise it in...

I'm really dissapointed with their hospitality.Below are my experience that I faced.

1.Thiruvizha Sapadu chicken curry was lack of taste and salt .We called the server and mentioned to him that curry tasted less salt.Instead he solved the issue; litterally he bring one bowl of salt and tell us to sprinkle it on top of our food.....This sound childish and litterally the server mentioned he was newly working as servant and don't know to handle these kind of situation.

2.We ordered 2 coconut water....instead of coconut he have us plastic bottle fileld up just with coconut water and charged us rm7 50 for each bottle .... really? You can just be genuine enough to labeled a pic of bottled coconut water instead printed as coconut on menu card.

3 . After we complaint about the tasteless curry; they changed our food into new curry...when the waitress pour the curry on banana leaf; the hot curry was spilled on my finger and my white shirt.....didn't say sorry also....

4 .I think I cn find better hospitality on other race restaurant rather than supporting my...
