The food here is fantastic. We had a chicken korma and a mutton gassi. The korma was particularly good. However, it came as chicken meatballs rather than cuts of chicken as I expected. This is fine as I really enjoyed the meatballs, but I feel it should be clarified on the menu. Most people will be expecting chicken cuts. The mutton gassi was lovely and rich. I have had better mutton but it was very good. The cheese naan was perfect, and easily the best priced dish we had. With the curry we had steamed rice. Steamed rice, for one person, is 12 ringgit per portion. This is ludicrously expensive for plain, steamed rice sufficient to feed one person. The curries were around 30 ringgit each, and to be honest, for that price we expected at least 50% more meat and curry. The total bill is then subject to 6%sst and 10% service charge, so 30 ringgit becomes 35 ringgit, and a single steamed plain rice is almost 14 ringgit. Comparatively that is almost double what we have been paying in many other places that are frankly, just as good and provide more food. We haven't eaten in this particular area of KL before so maybe it's more expensive, but we have eaten at a number of other similar restaurants across the city and the country which are similar quality, and they have been significantly more affordable than here, usually by about 15-25 ringgit per person and the portion sizes were much bigger. Water price is 5 ringgit for a small bottle of mineral water which is absolutely fine in a restaurant. I had a cup of tea, which wasn't the best, but it was still nice tea.
To be honest, I would have liked to leave a happier review, but we were pressed to leave a review three separate times by a man who I can only assume is the person in charge. The first of those times he put a qr code on the table and asked (once is fine), but the qr code seemed a bit invasive. To then harass us and try to look at our phones to see that we would leave a review is not acceptable. I come to a restaurant to enjoy a meal and to socialise with those I have come to the restaurant with. I don't come to spend more money than usual to then be hounded repeatedly by the manager to leave a review for the restaurant. I am already spending my money and time being here, that alone is enough and if I like it enough I will probably leave a review. We came here to have a farewell meal with friends, but were left uncomfortable by this rude approach. I am supposed to feel welcome and at home at a restaurant, but instead we left earlier than we would have liked and cut our goodbyes short because we felt on edge.
Another note on price compared to the experience, is for a placemat you get a paper print out of a photo of the restaurant, with a qr code on it. That seems cheap for a restaurant charging so much for food. The rest of the table ware was suitably elegant but not outstanding.
I would like to add that all the other staff were great, as was the aforementioned manager, until it came to this invasive insistence on a review. The push for a review really ruined the...
Read moreBombay Grand Indian Cuisine offers a delightful dining experience with a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant is well-seated, providing ample space for diners to relax and enjoy their meals comfortably. The overall atmosphere is charming and adds to the authentic Indian dining experience.
The service at Bombay Grand is efficient, with a reasonable order and serving time. The staff is attentive and polite, ensuring that customers are well taken care of throughout the meal. The pricing is also fair, offering good value for the quality of food served.
Speaking of food, the taste is above average and provides a satisfying array of flavors. The Paneer Tikka Masala is creamy and rich, while the Biryani is fragrant and flavorful. The Garlic Butter Naan and Cheese Naan are soft and perfectly complement the dishes. The Koliwada Chicken is crispy and tender, a must-try appetizer, while the Kadai Mushroom brings a unique and spicy twist to the meal. The Chicken Seekh Kebab is succulent and perfectly seasoned. To wash it all down, the Bombay Tea and Lime Juice are refreshing and serve as great accompaniments.
The bill came to $167.05, with a 6% SST and a 10% service charge, which is quite reasonable for the quality of the meal. Overall, Bombay Grand Indian Cuisine provides a wonderful experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a great spot for anyone craving authentic...
Read moreWe randomly went here last night.
We ordered Neer Dosa, Ghee Roast Chicken, Noodles and Chicken Biryani.
Neer Dosa we can’t complain about it.
Ghee Roast Chicken: flavours and taste remind me of India but the chicken is little undercooked. But this is only dish I really enjoyed.
Noodles: we felt little undercooked. So we sent it back.
Chicken Biryani: Though the taste is ok, Rice is undercooked. We are fully disappointed after seeing so we don’t want to complaint anymore since we are hungry we finished it. But we really regret it after going home. We had bad stomachache all night because of the biryani.
But the staff is very polite and service is good.
My first visit ended up very bad.
Somewhere I fell that they might be serving delicious food. But again if you feel the something is wrong with your food please inform the staff they will definitely change or modify it.
Answer for reply by the owner:
It is not from any other place it’s because of Bombay grand. I didn’t mention that food is bad or spoiled. Even mentioned the taste is also good but your biryani rice is uncooked that is what caused stomach ache. It’s not just me for my husband also. We both had food poisoning after eating at your place.
Mistakes can happen you would have politely said sorry for the experience we had in our visit. And give assurance to us that you people will improve the...
