Day by day this restaurant service is getting bad and there is no respect for the customers. Good morning dear people, hope you all are doing well. Hear something that I would like to share on an incident which happened on 12/01/2023 around 6am to 6.15am. So here is how it started⌠myself and my friend went for a quick vegetarian breakfast at brickfields at Sri Paandi Curry House. By the time I get into the shop I notice there was 1 Indian guy customer was so frustrated and shouting due to his expensive breakfast, where is was 3 nasi lemak with chicken varuval and prawn costed him rm43.00. The lady was at counter didnât provide him the bill receipt but only said the final amount need to be paid, so that Indian customer raised up his voice and asked for the bill but still in manner by addressing the counter lady as âAKKAâ you give me the bill 1st. He were keep mentioning that money doesnât matter for me but the amount that you have coded for this breakfast is too expensive and if I have when to an Malay shop I would have get the same amount of nasi lemak with a cheaper price. So that arguments continue and then this 1 India guy staff outside telling another Indian guy customer that the Indian customer who is shouting inside is drunk and so on. I can surely tell that the Indian customer wasnât drunk at all as he dressed very neatly and with the early morning fresh look where even it can be earlier seen that he was after his morning prayers with his Thiruneer on his forehead. That Indian customer was so hot tempered and did use bad words at the shop I wouldnât deny on it but he used it towards a India staff as that particular was so rude towards that customer for asking his rights on the expensive breakfast. This what I did when I went to pay my bill. I told the counter lady that one of your staff is telling the other customer that the Indian customer was drunk and so on, and thatâs something not nice to talk and blaming something which they never done, and could you people will believe what the counter lady said oh yea he was drunk..So my question is if a Typical Indian look guy ask for his rights do we need to label them as drunk person? Does they took an immediate urine test to confirm that he was drunk? This is not the 1st time happening at this particular shop. This is something to need look into it.. we are ok to pay for the food that we had but if itâs overpriced there we need to ask for our rights. Nowadays earning money is not easy but spending those for something that overpriced is not fair for the customer. And please stop the drunk guy tagline for those is asking for...
Read moreCame back to Paandiâs after what felt like ages and I have to say, it still hits the spot. Brickfields is full of food gems, but Paandiâs continues to stand strong as one of those places that just feels like home.
What stood out immediately? That garing thosai; perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. Just the way I love it. Paired with their brew coffee, it was an absolute treat. The kind of breakfast (or anytime meal, really) that wraps you in comfort and nostalgia.
On my first visit back, I tried their curries and it really did feel home-cooked. Rich, flavorful, and not overly oily like some other places tend to do. It had depth and warmth; something you donât always find when eating out.
Loved it so much, I actually came back again in the same week, that says a lot! This time, I went for the tandoori chicken and cheese naan. The chicken was cooked well, juicy with a nice char, and seasoned perfectly. As for the cheese naan, the texture was amazing, crisp and fresh out of the tandoor. While the cheese could have been more flavourful (I didnât get that gooey, cheesy kick I was expecting), the naan itself was still delicious on its own.
Service was quick, prices were affordable, and the overall vibe is very no-fuss, casual, and welcoming, exactly what youâd want from a beloved neighbourhood restaurant.
If youâre ever in Brickfields and craving solid, no-nonsense South Indian fare (or just some crispy thosai and a strong cup of coffee), Paandiâs is worth the stop. Itâs one of those places that stays consistent over the years, and thatâs pretty special.
Will definitely...
Read moreWe came here after many years. The shop is renovated. So we thought the food might be better than last time. A complete disappointment. We ordered tosai and the curry's all was cold. It was like came straight front a fridge. And thier Rava tosai was under cooked. I even called the wait and showed him inside it was still raw.
We ordered poori hoping atleast this will be better. Poori was so oily and hard. Not even a fresh poori or maybe the oil was used many times.
Drinks- Ordered masala tea. One of the worst masala tea ever. It was like drinking a milk not even close to tea. I immediately call the waiter to change it. I changed to Bru coffee to be safe but was too sweet.
No proper soap at washing area. The waiters just too busy to settle any orderes. That's all. Anything extra orders or request we need to call the many times.
The cashier mainly just non stop talking at cash counter and not bothered about how their food quality is so low. Below average. Some of the cashier's or owners always love to check the food, on the customers. This cashier was just not helpful at all and was non stop talking and giggles at the counter.
I think people just coming to the shop to just eat simple snacks which is the restaurant just not bothered to check on their food quality and also the drinks. We were having stomach discomfort after eating here.
This will be the last. Please do improve your food ,drinks quality,...
