I recently had my wedding at the Glass House, and unfortunately, the entire process of securing this venue left me feeling quite dissatisfied, as it seemed like I had been misled. While the venue is undeniably aesthetically pleasing, it comes with a host of hidden charges and undisclosed details not outlined in the contract. I wish these aspects had been explained much earlier, ideally before I paid the non-refundable deposit.
Some crucial points that potential clients might want to inquire about and ensure are clearly defined in the contract include:
Check-in and check-out timing, particularly if booking for a half-day (which constitutes only 6 hours, covering setup, the event, and teardown) versus a full day (15 hours). Restrictions on entering the venue earlier for setup, especially for morning weddings, as any time before 6 am is considered the previous day, incurring an additional half-day payment for a non-air-conditioned hall. Hidden restrictions that only become apparent when specifically asked about. Communication issues with the account handler, in my case, Beatrice, who often proved unresponsive and at times appeared to twist her words. For those planning traditional Indian weddings involving yellow rice blessings, an unmentioned additional cost of 5k (deposit) and 1k (penalty) is incurred. The inability to use their connection points for speakers if you opt for your sound system, necessitating an extra expense. On the positive side, the Glass House is undeniably Instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing if the decor is done right. Additionally, it boasts a decently sized parking area. Despite these positive aspects, the overall experience was marred by the undisclosed charges and restrictions, leaving me less than satisfied with the choice of venue for my...
Read moreGood cakes and excellent coffee but the service must improve. It's a shame that many places start off well then slowly but surely things go wrong. In this case Staff are disinterested in customer needs even after having paid the Bill in advance as required. The music is so loud it kills the enjoyment of the beautiful settings. It makes me wonder if the owners really do understand what's going on. Filipino staff need to be reminded that the English language has only one universal interpretation and it is not the Filipino English interpretation. Disappointed that standards have dropped from 6 months ago. Even the upside down pineapple cake was not up to its usual standard...Most cakes have an overdose of sugar.Apple crumble lacked depth ...tasted liked it had been around for a few days ...Dig deeper and you can visualise why ...The ice cream that came with looked liked it was squeezed out of a tube...would have preferred plain freshly made custard to accompany rather than this lame attempt at ice cream.Popcorn was stale and cold. Flies ...Flies and more flies. It appears that the owners and staff are too busy with themselves and customers are secondary . The focus seems to be on events and party bookings. So if you are a walk in customer be prepared for mediocrity. This is a shame because it's a lovely setting and the cakes USED...
Read moreCame here for a night wedding event. Can't figure out how the building look from outside but the inner side is indeed beautiful, filled with light, garden of flowers and greeneries.
The main hall area is at the first floor level. It is not very big and seems crowded since many people came at the same time. It may not very suitable if your number of guesses are like 800 or more. There is a lift to serve the first and second floor.
Foods are okay for the one I ate. I did not taste all but only took the ayam goreng and 'pajeri nenas'. There are 3 or 4 more dishes but doesn't look tempting to me.
Parking is a bit tricky. You can't park along the road side cos the road is narrow. There is a small parking area on the left side of the building and many more on top of the hill. It could be scary to drive up, furthermore at night time but there is a free valet service. Though its free, just be prepared with a few notes, cos some handsome guy would ask for it before taking your car. I wouldn't mind giving them a little token as a kind gesture even if they...
