This restaurant is located inside AEON Mall, a Japanese shopping center.
Since we’re foreigners who aren't Malay or Chinese, we’re not very familiar with Malaysia’s food trends. That means we often don’t know which restaurants are good until we actually try them. We picked this place because it was still quite busy even after the lunch rush—and luckily, it turned out to be a great choice.
At first, we weren’t sure what kind of food they served just by looking at the menu, but we later realized it was a Hong Kong-style restaurant. This type of cuisine combines Hong Kong flavors with cheese or tomato sauce. Apparently, dishes using the Japanese instant noodles "Demae Iccho" are also popular in Hong Kong, and you can find them here as well.
The food came out really fast, and we were very happy with the taste. The only downside was the small tables—if four people sat at one, there wouldn’t be enough room for all the dishes. But overall, it was a great...
Read morehad an extremely disappointing experience here on New Year’s Day. One of the waiter, who seemed inexperienced and poorly trained, accidentally stepped on my foot and cracked my toenail. Even after I yelled in pain, he took a full three seconds to lift his shoe off my injured foot. His response? A casual, insincere “Oh, sorry, sorry,” as if it was no big deal.
To make matters worse, the manager on duty was completely unhelpful, and the staff seemed clueless and unprofessional. No one checked on my injury or made any effort to address the situation properly. I was in so much pain that I had to leave without finishing my meal.
It’s clear they’ve hired untrained part-time staff to cover the holiday rush, and the lack of proper management is appalling. This was supposed to be a celebration, but it turned into an upsetting and painful experience. I’ll never return to this...
Read moreKim Gary is my regular eating place. I like the variety & the consistent food quality. However, I increasingly find the prices getting steeper by the weeks. I can understand price increases over time. However, increasing the price and reducing the portion at the same time is something not acceptable to me & probably to many other customers as well, as the crowds during meal times have reduced. The foo yong egg rice I ordered remains well cooked & was nice. My only complaint was that the side dish pork chop I ordered has now been reduced to a small slice while the price had increased to Rm6.10 ! It started at about Rm4 if I remembered correctly and that was for two big slices ! To be fair service was prompt & good as usual. Would I go back ? Well, maybe but certainly not at the top...
