After many failed attempts at trying to dine here, as they always seemed to be closed, today we were finally in luck.
The restaurant was fairly quiet and seemed very laid back. The food was tasty. The kailan garlic was very well cooked and the flavour was on point. The basil chicken on the other hand didn’t fair as I had hoped. The flavour was on point however, the chicken pieces were a tad on the larger side and every piece was covered in fat. Some pieces were even tough to cut so I suspect it was either not cooked through properly or the chicken was old. The lemongrass pandan drink was average. While the general experience was alright, the prices were a little on the high side for simple dishes.
However, what really put me off was the eyesores all over the restaurant. There were additional stock piled all over the place. Some plates and serving dishes shoved under the benches. There was a messy table that housed a half drunk bubble tea cup which sat amidst some messy papers, and a jacked that hung untidily over a chair which was very awkwardly wedged between a baby chair. This table was placed close to the register, next to another long dining table that seated 8 people. Aside from that, an entire batch of noodle boxes and sauces were piled up like a tower next to one of the tables which had been taken up by kitchen staff who kept walking in and out. The area where the drinks were being made was also disorganised with staff walking in and out from the kitchen to charge and check on their phones. I understand how tired and worn out the staff probably were, however it does not reflect the professionalism of the restaurant especially with customers dining, not to mention a very annoying fly that just wouldn’t stop hovering over our table.
The other thing I noticed was that cleanliness grade was not visibly displayed anywhere which makes me question the cleanliness of the entire establishment. The reason I’m highlighting this is because all the clutter around made me feel very uncomfortable.
I strongly urge the management to look into the untidy upkeep of this establishment. While I wouldn’t mind trying out the other items on the menu, it’s unlikely to be...
Read moreOne of the best thai cuisine restaurants I have tried in the past year so far. Stumbled upon this establishment initially when they were promoting their seafood tomyum omurice but instead we came here to try their dishes after finding out way more diverse options to choose from.
Clear soup tom yum was clean and packs good flavour punch. Ingredients were fresh too with shrimp and sotong chunks alongside mushrooms and tomatoes. Appreciate that they purposefully left the herbs in complete chunks to prevent us from ingesting them. Details matter. 4.4/5
Grilled pork neck with sweet spicy tamarind sauce was smokey with hints of peppery notes. Tastes very good already on its own but my goodness dipping it with the accompanied sweet spicy tamarind sauce elevated it to another level. One slight gripe would be the pork was not as piping hot as I would have expected from a freshly grilled item but the taste is still spectacular overall. 4.5/5 for me.
Salted egg somtam was the star of the show for me and my significant other of the night. Balanced strong sour sweet spicy notes from the sauces tossed in with the papaya salad shreds; alongside savoury notes from the big dried shrimps and just nice salted egg with its creamy/disintegrating feeling of salted items usually are but yet not too salty/overpowering the salad overall. 4.7/5 for me for this dish.
Overall this place is really a hidden gem of a thai place in TTDI for sure. However i believe based on the speed of food service and the amount of seating/size of the restaurant. It’s pretty much a one or 2 man show in the kitchen with longer than usual wait times, especially during peak dining hours. So bear in mind to either be patient and come without a growling super hungry tummy or you reserve a table in advance.
Will definitely come again to try other dishes for sure, like the stir fried seafoods and noodles which looked very authentic from its...

Came for dinner with the family on a weekend. Place was fully seated but the restaurant was on the smaller scale, so expected decent service. However, lack of front of house staff clearly affected service as we waited quite some time for many small requests. Grateful for the chinese lady server who eventually attended to our needs, could see that she was hustling throughout the night. The other 2-3 servers honestly did nothing/weren’t as attentive which was a letdown. Food came out rather quickly which was a nice surprise.
As for taste wise, it were either hits or misses. Thai milk tea was tasty and milky with the right amount of sweetness. Pork shoulder was seasoned well, not too oily, tender and paired well with the sauce. Seafood tom yum was wonderful, seafood was fresh and packed a punch of flavor. The rest of the items like plain omelette, cabbage, curry chicken and fish cake fell short and honestly tasted extremely ordinary.
To end things off, was greeted with a card reader machine that couldn’t connect to the network. Yet another annoying experience.
Many other Thai food restaurants with better food, service and value. Wouldn’t come back unless the...
