Read moreI arrived 1 minute before they closed, so it was very nice that they sat and served me.
No prices on the menu, so that was a bit off. The garlic spinach was 15MYR and I got Hot and Sour soup for 15MYR. Rice was 2MYR. That all seemed a bit high, since this is just a street place with no AC, but I ordered anyway, cause all of 1 Utama was already closed.
The food came out nearly immediately after I went to the bathroom and washed my hands. The waiter came and gave me some napkins and I paid right away because they were closing, so the service was good.
The spinach was perfect and delicious, but the hot and sour soup was among the worst hot and sour soup I’ve ever had in my life, anywhere in the world. It was just broth, egg, tofu, and some very hard to find minced meat (I’m not even sure what kind). It didn’t have a horrible taste, it just had virtually no taste at all. No bamboo shoots, no fungus, and no flavor. It was like they took water, added a bunch of corn starch, soup flavoring (very little, obviously) and made a flavorless, thick soup, with an extremely slight vinegar taste.
I think this is probably one of those places where they do great on some items, but don’t have a clue about others. Pick your items carefully.
Overall price was too high, spinach was excellent, hot and sour soup was awful,...

However, the lady boss informed us that there’s a minimum order of five pieces. I agreed to add two more pieces to eat dine in, but she insisted they all had to be packed together, or she wouldn’t sell them due to her high rental.
As a local resident, this was the first time I’ve heard of a minimum order policy for chee cheong fun, especially since it wasn’t displayed the notice. While I understand certain business practices, it would be more considerate if the lady boss were more flexible. Every sale counts, and I don’t think customers should feel judged based on what...
