Rendezvous Steak Garden — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The service is atrocious. Let's start with that. While it may look like there's many waitstaff rushing all around the place, trying to get their attention would be almost like striking lottery because no matter how high your arm is in the air or how hard you wave it, they seemingly cannot see you. And when you've finally got the attention of one, you'll be waved off and told to wait. Wait you will. Finally, when one comes to your table with the menu or to take your order, the face is as sullen as can be, and the responses are curt.

Now, the food. The only good thing is that the portions are quite generous. They're very oily and feels somewhat lacking in flavour, so really nothing to shout about. You can pretty much get this (or even better, and cheaper too) at any regular kopitiam with the Western food stall available. Plus, the food and drinks will take (what seems like) forever to arrive, and they'll never come at the same time. One will come, the other will arrive 20min later, and the last comes just as you're about to cancel the order. By which time, you're so fed-up that you've lost all appetite.

Finally, the decor. The most confusing haphazard mish-mash you'll have ever seen. Throw in loads of greenery, probably a few stagnant pools of water nearby, and you'll be bombarded by mosquitoes throughout your meal if you come for dinner. Basically, you're eating only to feed the blood-suckers.

Oh and, the one time we were there (probably the last time), there was some sort of live band playing such incredibly loud music that you'll be reduced to eating in silence so that you can get out of there as fast...

The 4 of us went to this restaurant on Mother's Day(12/5/2019). Place were pack and we already expected to wait some time for food which I don't mind at all. The thing that got me very angry and upset is the food arrived for only 2 of us. And the other 2 didn't arrived at all. I keep chasing them and also asked them why the other 2 food took such long time to arrived. The other patron that come much much later than us already ate,paid and left. Out of 4 of us, 2 of us ordered the exact same food and that same food took 30 minutes to arrived. Needless to say my husband and I are very very angry.........

Update(15/5/2019) When my husband and I voiced our opinion towards the cashier about the service, there is a waitress who have the audacity to tell us that we shouldn't come during 'big' day and that we should come during normal day. We were quite shocked by her rudeness. I told her that it's not the waiting that we are angry, it's the timing of the food that served out was unorganized. Then she proceeded to 'teach' us that we should catch one waiter or waitress to ask about the food.The problem that we caught so many of them and none of them can gave us proper answer.There is no update or anything from them.At least the cashier was very apologetic about...

So, I have no idea why some people are giving this place 5 stars... perhaps their experience was a rare exception or their standards are just low.

Aside from the deco and ambience, this place is horrible. The food quality does not justify the price paid at all, the taste is similar to what I can get at a food court or cheap cafeteria. Came here with my family and my dad could barely fill his tummy as the fish was not well cooked and too greasy. Maybe you're asking, why didn't we just get a new dish then?

Because the service is atrocious. The waiters and supervisors zoom around but are actively ignoring raised hands from customers. You'll have to call them 3-5 times before you get a response (with an attitude). Plus, some got their food early but most of us had to wait an extra hour for our food to arrive. Other tables were also getting impatient and frustrated, yet no apologies from the staff. How can a person enjoy a meal when the mood is ruined? So would we like to wait another hour for the replacement dish? No thanks!

Side note: DO NOT use the washroom, unless you are ok with the filthiest of conditions.
