A great introduction to the food of Nepal, if you’re willing to take the winding road. Up a flight of stairs, the place opens up with air conditioning and traditional music—loud enough to notice, quiet enough that you need to raise your voice slightly. The staff are friendly and may be a little surprised to see a non-local face, but English is spoken well enough to get by. A physical English menu shows all the highlights, but the full experience—the whole shebang—is on a QR code. Scan, order, simple. Payment is easy, especially if you can use the QR code. Prices are what you’d expect in Kuala Lumpur so don’t imagine street-food prices.
Portions match the menu, and you won’t leave hungry. The food carries familiar spices—turmeric, cumin, cardamom—but the result is something unique, far from what you get at a mamak. The momos, in particular, are often praised as juicy, flavoursome, and a real standout. Khana sets offer a proper Nepalese feast. Chatpate is a street-food-style snack that’s addictive. Masala Papad is perfect for sharing while waiting for the mains.
But be warned: The kitchen also has its moments, too: dishes can arrive barely warm, and chicken may be dry or bony. andthere is a room next door, often busy, where hookah smoke drifts out, filling the air. This isn’t a place for a quiet, romantic night. More than once, people have reported drunk men staring. It’s fine as long as you stay in the main dining area. The vibe is less “a Lumbini monastery” and more “casual Kathmandu canteen.” Fresh flowers on every table are a nice touch, a small splash of care.
For those looking for authentic, flavoursome Nepali food—the momos, the mutton thali—it delivers. For those who can overlook occasional service lapses, strangers staring, the whiff of shisha, and the possibility of a wrong dish, this is a hidden gem. The secret is to see it for what it is: a hangout where the South Asian community gathers. It’s cleaner than most places on the block, and the food is genuinely tasty. Just make sure to check the bill. And maybe order a beer when the taas set...
Read moreHIDDEN GEM. Westerners here! When we arrived we could tell we are one of few western visitors, everybody stopped eating and turned in their chairs to watch us walk through the restaurant.
We were well welcomed, the owner came right away with water bottles for each of us and the menus. We ended up ordering a bit of everything as we were a big group. What I loved most were the Momos, the fried ones were incredible, the boiled ones were also good. There was always a lot of attention and service for us. When we finished the rice we asked for some more and in less than 30 seconds a staff member came with the Pan to serve whoever wanted some more. She also came with the chicken offering everyone some more.
We also had some Pani puri as started and they were great, super spicy too. I tasted the chicken chow mein and it was good also! I had the pork “skewers” ,Sukuti I think, with the rice crispy rice, I really liked it however in each piece half the pork was just the fat, but that’s okay I would cut that off. The sauce that came with was great and quite spicy. In fact all dishes had some spice. Really liked the whole meal. Was great, great service and a tranquil Nepalese locals atmosphere.
Prices were excellent.
Thank you for the hospitality and love poured into...
Read moreI absolutely love this restaurant! Every time I visit, I make sure to try their mutton thali, and it never disappoints. This dish is thoughtfully crafted with authentic Nepali spices like jeera, timur, and others, giving it a truly unique and flavorful taste.
The food here is not only delicious but also incredibly affordable, making every bite an absolute delight.
The momos are a standout—they’re juicy, flavorful, and take me back to my time in Nepal. This restaurant perfectly captures the essence of authentic Nepali cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience genuine Nepalese flavors!
I'm deducting two stars for the atmosphere here. There's no appealing vibe to bring your girlfriend to this place. The presence of intoxicated individuals staring excessively is making us feel quite...
