I have been trying to find a good biriyani for long time in KL! This country has amazing Indian curries and sides, however the South Indian in me always missed a good biryani. Thanks to my husband we happened to visit Mollagaa . Some of the Chefs and the staff here are from South India, and that was the first thing that convinced me to dine here :) We ordered the mutton biryani and loved it. The mutton was tender and juicy, but the spices were a little overpowering (just a little that you wouldn’t notice it), but it was still good! (ALSO this came with an 🥚. Not sure what the logic is but few restaurants have an egg only with a chicken biriyani 😂). The killer biriyani comes with a killer curry, which had the right amount of spice and had the flavour of the mutton. So we had to ask anna for a second serve 😆. Other items on the menu that you must try: 1. Mutton varuval 2. Vanjaram fry 3. Prawn masala 4. Kongu Pallipalayam chicken 5. Non-veg Meals (fish curry is to die for, I literally drank it and you get unlimited appalams) Been here twice already! Definitely going back again 💃

Caution: If you cannot handle chilli/spicy food, this place may not be suitable for you. However, my experience here was fabulous. As a South Asian, I'd been looking for places in Malaysia where I can find tasty spicy food and Mollagaa didn’t disappoint. I ordered a banana leaf meal(Thala Vazhai), Punjabi Fish Curry and Lime Mint Juice. All of them were delicious and fulfilling. I especially liked the fish curry. Found it quite spicy but it ate well with rice, papadom, the coconut gravy that came with my rice meal and the lime juice. My suggestion for future visitors here is to order something cold/sweet that you can eat with your spicy dishes. This will balance out everything and you will not end up dying ;) The place is expensive, but you can share meals if you come in groups. My rice meal had a big portion and could be easily shared between 2 people. They have veg and non-veg options. The environment is pretty chill with Tamil/South Indian music playing in the background. Would like to come here again with my friends.

When for lunch with my friend, the waiter took order immediately since less people. Even, the waiter suggested on selecting the menu & waited patiently for us to choose the dish. In few minutes, the food arrived. Now, from first glance, all the dishes looks yummy cz of the color radiant. The really shock comes when started to eat. It could have been more tasteful if they are generous with their salt in food. All their foods are bland!! Their mutton curry & fish podimas was okay. I have eaten the same dish at other place which is more yummy. After eating their food, our fingers had burning feel maybe due to the chili and masala used. To my surprise my friend felt the same. It’s hot whether yet their drinks comes with less ice, we order ice drinks because we need the coldness. We informed the waiter the food had less salt & coldness. He asked us to add salt ourself since there’s salt & pepper available on table. We thought it was incense stick holder. For coldness, he gave beverages lesson for free, no ice added. Overall, for this scenario don’t judge the foods by its color! Improvement can be done with their taste.

Visited this restaurant for lunch with my friends as we were craving for good south Indian banana leaf. And this restaurant definitely did not disappoint us! The banana leaf was too good especially their curries ! The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering South Indian cuisine. As we were so tempted with their food pictures on Instagram, we decided to try their prawn dosa and our expectations continued to be exceeded !! It was something different which I believe no other Indian restaurant could be so creative enough to create such a delicious seafood dosa. The service was quite slow as the place was crowded , but the restaurant Manager, Mr.Hari was very thoughtful and polite enough to apologies on the food order delay . So, make sure you guys reserve your table especially on weekend. Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food, I highly recommend going to the Mollagaa restaurant. The best places to go for authentic Indian food ! P.s : Their KULFI is to die for, its heaven on a plate !

As a regular customer of this restaurant for the past four years, I’ve noticed a decline in the quality and taste of the food. During a visit last Monday, we ordered three banana leaf meals and were quite disappointed. The stir-fried vegetables and fried snake gourd were excessively oily, making them difficult to enjoy. Although a variety of gravies were offered, some lacked flavor and depth. The egg kalki, shredded chicken, and fish varuval were decent, but the egg kalki was under-seasoned. On a positive note, the drinks were good, and the service was efficient. However, the waitstaff lacked the cheerful demeanor we had previously experienced; they seemed less engaged compared to past visits. This restaurant has been a favorite of ours, where we’ve hosted many business partners and family members. However, we plan to take a break until there’s an improvement in the food quality and overall experience. Despite these issues, I still recommend the place and hope to see positive changes on our next visit.

Amazing Indian restaurant ____________ Food | Food-wise, it was great, 2 of us ordered the Madras butter chicken masala, a garlic naan, 2 chapattis, and some mutton balls. The mutton balls were a delicious starter that came with a slightly spicy red sauce, amazing. The curry had plenty of chicken and sauce to further enjoy my bread with. Overall great food. ____________ Service | There were plenty of servers walking around, willing to help, friendly service and they even asked how the food was, in terms of what makes great service they ticked all the boxes. ____________ Atmosphere | Very much not a high-class vibe, and not a lower-end vibe, the perfect middle ground that keeps you from feeling out of place. The friendly staff and the nice space decoration such as paintings brought the place together. ____________ One of the best Indian places in Southeast Asia for me 👌
