Since the prices in this place is quite high, I shall judge with my very high standard.
What I’ve ordered is a mix berry yoghurt cheese cake, chai coffee latte as well as a braised chicken leg.
Cake: it’s misleading to say it’s a cheesecake. What I’ve gotten is actually like a cheese flavoured sponge cake. It’s not even remotely similar to a cheesecake. Quite dry as well. No yoghurt flavour. There’s a air bubble in the cake. Consistency is lacking for a ‘cheese’ cake. This cake quality is something you can get in pasar malam. A true disappointment. 0.5/5
Chai coffee latte: pretty standard but I wish there’s more hint of chai. Slightly on bitter side due to coffee. 2.5/5
Chicken: Something stood out is the quality of carrot and broccoli. It looks like the carrot have gone through some oxidation. It’s quite dark. Doesn’t have the look of a fresh carrot. I mean ingredient prep is not wrong, but I think handling is important. Also, not sure why the broccoli have signs of yellowing. I think storage of food needs to be taken care of here.
Chicken is average. Doesn’t have a depth of flavour to it. Doesn’t seem marinated. Some frozen taste. The only thing giving it flavour is the cream sauce coating. Even then, I think extra cream sauce should be given as a side. I think mash potato works better in this dish. The whatever mash thing is bland and boring. The only redeeming part of this dish is the sauce, the red potato chip thing, and the presentation. And this thing costs 38.90*16%! At half the price, I’ve had better chicken legs at other places. Overall, considering the price factor, just a 2/5.
To end my review, food wise I think one shouldn’t expect good quality here. But I can only speak for these 3 dishes. Ambience wise is Instagram worthy. Food is left much to be desired. Slightly high price. You’re paying for the ambience...
Read moreThe dining experience was quite a mixed bag, with both delightful and disappointing moments. The food, for the most part, was delicious. The chocolate cake, in particular, was an absolute highlight—rich, indulgent, and finger-licking good. Every bite was a chocolate lover’s dream, full of deep, satisfying flavors. Unfortunately, the almond croissant didn’t live up to the same standard. It was a real letdown, lacking the essential almond filling that gives it character, and the texture was disappointingly hard, making it difficult to enjoy.
Service, on the other hand, left much to be desired. The wait time was excessively long, which dampened the overall experience. To add to this, there was an unpleasant odor in the dining area, which might have been due to something specific, but it certainly detracted from the ambiance.
Speaking of ambiance, the atmosphere was undeniably beautiful and charming. The space is thoughtfully designed, with convenient places to store luggage, making it a practical choice for travelers. The downstairs dining area is particularly lovely—quaint, rich in character, and exuding a pleasant vibe that invites you to linger. Upstairs, there are even more seating options, offering variety depending on your preference. The toilets were impressively clean, adding to the overall comfort of the visit. The décor also has a touch of old-school charm, which gives the place a unique, nostalgic feel.
In summary, while the food and ambiance had their strong points, the inconsistencies in service and food quality left some room for improvement. Nonetheless, the setting itself is delightful, and with a few tweaks, it could become a truly standout dining...

I believe that I’d mentioned before that downtown KL (city centre) is experiencing some sort of cafe boom lately. The list of cafes for me to visit keeps on growing, faster than I can actually visit actually.
Add Piccadilly Cafe to that… the 20 minutes drive to KL city centre was bearable on Sunday. I had to park slightly further as there as no parking near this busy stretch of road - and it cost RM13 per 2 hours block 😑
Piccadilly Cafe occupies 2 unit of shoplots and it was a stark difference from outside as I entered the premise - cooling and quiet, with exposed bricks for their walls, raw cement or ancient tiles, and wooden flooring on the first floor.
▪️Omelette with cheese & turkey ham with garden salad on the side (RM17.90). Love the still-runny texture of the omelette. ▪️Scrambled egg with avocado on sourdough (or brioche) RM23.90 - the Princess had no problem finishing the entire plate. ▪️Guacamole Chicken Burger (RM35.80) - a well-marinated and grilled chicken patty, with guacamole sauce, caramelised onion, gherkin, avocado, fresh tomato, cheddar cheese, and charcoal bun; served with sweet potato fries on the side. Oh wow! I love how flavourful and tender the grilled chicken patty was.. ▪️Coffee - decent coffee quality that did its job to provide the caffeine fix in the morning.
My verdict - I will come back for the burger alone, plus other dishes that I haven’t tried.
They provide table service which makes it easier for those who are seated upstairs. At my time of visit, service wasn’t as enthusiastic...
