Situated on a very Busy, Expensive and Touristy Hawker Street of Jalan Alor, Sai Woo treated us with some amazing known dishes but with better flavors.

Not suckers for touristy area, but every time we crossed this food market (since the shorter route that we would take to the main center from our apartment required us to cross this street), what caught our eyes was the madness and passion for booze and food. The whole energy around this street is way different from any other Street food in Kuala Lumpur. This street offers you everything from curry puffs to pancakes to ice cream and above all, authentic Malaysian food that has Chinese, Malaysian and Indian influence.

Their menu is extensive but we couldn't find any frogs on them 😉. Wonder how they keep a track of all the recipes.

Ordered Stir-fried Squids, a mix plate of Satay that included Chicken, Beef and Mutton, Spicy Mamak Mee Goreng and Seafood Fried Rice.

Easily, the Mamak Mee Goreng was the winning dish of the day. It was Out-Of-This-World.

The Satat skewers were delightful and trust us when we say that the peanut sauce ia nothing like what we have eaten anywhere around the world. It's more nutty, less creamy and less sweet...And so flavorful.

The Seafood Fried rice was simple and gave us the balance around all the spice we were gorging on.

Stir Fried Squids were flavorful but a bit chewy.

Attendants are quick and easy to communicate with.

Very little for vegetarians to choose from but you can definitely try and be adventurous 😝

A bit expensive (the whole food street) but it gave us an experience that will always...

Came here while walking along the entire singular stretch of the night market. Word of warning: if you are easily overwhelmed by crowds, don't come on a weekend night. The crowds were really insane and there wasn't much space to walk, so everything was really cramped together and movement was really slow. Most of the stores on the sides took up a significant amount of space so there really wasn't enough space. On the right side, the bigger eating places with seats mostly sold the same type of food, so we decided to just settle on a random one (Sai Woo).

Thankfully, there was a busker near us and he belted out great songs (his voice was awesome), and it reduced the stressfulness of the entire situation (sensory overload). We ordered too much food, ranging from satay, stingray, hokkien mee, fried rice, kangkong, chicken and tofu. Portions were relatively big so if you are a light eater, please do not order the large option. Order the smaller one which is the medium. The food was decent, and our favourite was the tofu and stingray. Our least favourite was the hokkien mee and chicken (see pictures for more info). Service was really quick and everything came within 10 minutes despite the crowds. However, we really didn't feel that there was anything special - if you could find another similar place along the street, just enter and eat there. There is no need to come specifically...

DON’T GO THIS PLACE!!! They are CHEATING! I ordered two king prawns after a staff showed the size of the raw king prawns. Actual cooked prawns were medium size which is much cheaper price.

When I got out from the restaurant, I found the king prawns the staff showed were still there!

Thanks to this restaurant’s cheating and dishonest, my first visit and impression to Malaysia is absolutely BAD!!!!!!

/———————————————————-//

After the response by owner, I am leaving my further review again and the picture I took.

DEAR Owner: I suggest you spend more time to do your business right rather than spending time to leave your cheating response to hook up more victims.

I specifically requested to cook the raw prawns that I saw since I have heard that some restaurant is cheating with the size. Before I sat down this restaurant, I have talked to peoples in other restaurant is Jalan Alor and they usually offered one King Prawn with 90-120 RM. The staff in your restaurant offered TWO King Prawns with 85 RM by showing the raw king prawns. In the end, the food that I received was two prawns of medium size (or even smaller size!!!!)

Here is the picture that I took at the restaurant. This is NOT king size that I ordered!!!

TRAVELERS: AVOID RESTAURANT!!!!! YOU WILL BE...
