One of my favorite restaurants, Royal Dream, located in the vibrant Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur, offers an authentic Yemeni dining experience that captures the essence of Middle Eastern cuisine and ambiance. The restaurant's interior is thoughtfully designed to reflect traditional Middle Eastern aesthetics, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes diners feel at home. Renowned for its exquisite Yemeni dishes, Royal Dream ensures that each meal is a delightful journey into the rich flavors of the region. The buffet during Ramadan is particularly noteworthy, offering a diverse selection of authentic dishes that cater to both regular patrons and newcomers seeking a genuine taste of Yemen.īˆ† The staff's hospitality further enhances the dining experience. Notably, team members and especially "Lulu" consistently provide service with a sweet smile and professional demeanor, contributing to the restaurant's welcoming environment. For those seeking a place that combines delectable Yemeni cuisine with genuine Middle Eastern hospitality, Royal Dream Restaurant stands out as a top choice in Kuala Lumpur.

I would say AVOID this place at all cost especially if you don’t speak their language. They tried to SCAM us with inputting items which are wrong/ clearly didn’t order 1. They put in water which we clearly didn’t order 2. I ordered Sahawiq cheese but they put in ā€œSaj Soujuk with cheeseā€ which obviously they are two different items (you all can see the plates ) They guy came and said because there was bread which is 15+6+tax Which I said it didn’t make sense because the tax is added below, which I ask for the menu and guess what? The bread didn’t even cost 6, but 5 Ringgit. Even if the bread cost more, then it should have been stated in the bill not ā€œsaj soujouk with cheeseā€ (I have provided picture from google or you can try googling it too) I didn’t even order the bread, as usually when we go to similar restaurant breads are always provided. He then went on and said ā€œyeah my friend made a mistakeā€ I argued that why should I pay for your mistake and then the guy finally said ā€œok I give you back your moneyā€ Seriously……

My husband recommended this restaurant to me and my family as he said it is newly renovated and the food served is good. I am really happy with the atmosphere and services rendered by the staffs. It was my son's birthday. We had the royal chicken, muva grill fish, hummus and mawaleh bread. Food is quite a huge portion and the 4 of us could barely finish it. One have to climb a flight of stairs to reach the restaurant as it is on first floor. The only cons and dissatisfaction I have is that there is no play for pray. The men prayed outside in the open and the women were given the janitor room where only 1 person can go in at a time and the room smells like feet. There is also stuffs like plates and detergents in the room. For an arabic restaurant on this scale, surely you can afford to provide this basic amenities to your patron.

Edit: yeah a generic, canned response and then a tone-deaf invitation to come back leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (especially after spending several hundred MYR at this business, but then again all customers should be treated well).

This place was a mainstay for a few months and I had planned on it being a mainstay for many more months, probably years to come, but alas, I won’t be coming back. (More on that in a second). I was spending somewhere between RM400-500 here a month (not because they were my only option for similarly priced shisha/ ME food but because they were the easiest.)

Shisha is usually good, occasionally excellent, occasionally a bit underwhelming (also they could change the coals more often without having to flag them down). Food is good, although a bit inconsistent. But always good enough to come back for.

Anyway, one day I was heading for their happy hour, running late, and as I crossed the road 10 feet from the place, I checked my phone and it was 4:59 PM. I sorta laughed to myself ā€œoh cool made happy hourā€ but was more joking with myself because everywhere I’ve been will honor happy hour within a few minutes.

So cool, made their happy hour or so I thought. I sat down, they took a few minutes to come over and take the order but that’s just life. (in hindsight, I think they dragged their feet so they could charge me full price).

When I went to pay my bill, I found out they charged me full price. I believed I made the happy hour time even if just barely at 5PM. I asked for the price and explained that I came in on the dot.

The lady behind the counter was A) rude about the whole thing, got argumentative, refused to budge, and B) pretty sure she was lying about some things. If I heard her correctly (was hard to hear), she was trying to claim I came in like half an hour after the happy hour, then later maybe only 10 minutes late (in terms of physics, it couldn’t have been more than like 1 minute).

I’ve noticed in the negative reviews the owner/business likes to argue or deflect with the reviewers. Maybe they’ll pull up the security tape and prove I did indeed walk in at 5:01 PM.

So what? Ultimately, customers get to vote with their wallets, and I’ll be voting with mine, which means I’m done with Royal Dream. I won’t accept rudeness or nickel-and-diming, especially being a regular and given how much I had already spent there and how much I planned to spend going forward.

I do have to wonder, from a business’s point of view, was it really worth trading months/years and RM1000s/10,000s for 1 (alleged) minute and RM10? For Royal Dream, apparently the...

I visited this restaurant at night for dinner, encouraged by the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the expectations.

When I arrived, there was no staff available to greet or assist with seating. I asked for a table, but one of the employees ignored me completely. I then walked over to the cashier, where after a short wait, someone finally pointed me to an empty table.

I ordered a tikka sandwich and a soft drink from one of the waitstaff. After waiting for about 30 minutes with no sign of my food, I asked the same server about my order. She told me to wait another 10 minutes, only to later admit she had forgotten to place the order in the first place. I had to wait even longer for the food to be prepared.

The food itself was okay—not exceptional, but acceptable. However, the service was extremely disappointing. I also tried the shisha, but once again, it was impossible to get any assistance. Even ringing the bell didn’t bring anyone over.

Overall, I expected much better based on the reviews. Unfortunately, poor service overshadowed the...
