Write I must to balance the views of some hotels versus the many new prestigious hotels policy in Kuala Lumpur.||||I travelled to KL in a family environment with 2 kids in late November 2019. Altogether there were four of us.||||Trolling through the many well known websites were useless as they were not customer friendly & rigid. With a family of four travelling, many hotels compelled me to get two rooms with exorbitant prices to match. Novotel & Istana are two of them.||||I then came across this fantastic refurbished Federal Hotel which sits on the west end of Jalan Bukit Bintang, a very well located hotel within the golden triangle. It’s a dated hotel but rooms in the new Merdeka block are wonderfully refurbished.||Rooms are considerable larger than new hotels. Around 33sqm.||||The hotel has a kids pool & an ample sized adult swimming pool to match. ||||Breakfast was served in Kontiki restaurant with loads of yummy local delicacies to try as well as American breakfast too. Must try them!||||Walk out thru rear entrance takes you to a convenient shopping complex Plaza Low Yat that has everything related to IT & Apple store. ||||Walk out through the front entrance of this hotel is the famous Jalan Bukit Bintang. 200m eastward direction takes you to the busy Pavilion shopping complex & the elitist of hotels located here (JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton).||||Walking 50m northbound to its next street is the famous Alor street(or known locally as Jalan Alor), which has rows of heavenly food stalls flanking Alor street.||||Public transport via MRT is a close 250m.||||In conclusion, this hotel is a ‘must try’ category to check out...

For more than twenty years I have stayed at the Federal Hotel in KL. Even while the hotel did the renovations I stayed there and have always enjoyed their services.

The customer services have day by day grown so much. The Hotel have an excellent Gust and Relation Reception Manager. She does everything possible to make the guest enjoy their stay. I have just returned from my 12 days stay in the hotel and I felt that Federal Hotel was my second home purely by the way I was treated by the Manager. Her name is Shuen Lim. An excellent lady always smiling and willing to help. When i checked in the security lock was not working. I informed the service and within a minute the manager herself was there ti fix it. What more can a guest expect. Every day when i passed the reception Shuen was available at the desk and always with that smiling face. The question from her lips "can I do something for you today?"

When I am at the breakfast table sometimes I see her there and once again she wouldn't hesitate to come to me and say "hello". She is one of the "pillars" for federal Hotel.

It is needless for me to say about the other staff as well. Every single staff at Federal hotel is beautiful. Their customer services are excellent. They have "total quality management". and also have "best practice knowledge". The staff at the breakfast room are to be appreciated for their services and so are the room cleaners and the bell captains.

I will always stay at this hotel and always enjoy their hospitality.

Thanks Federal Hotel for making my stay...

My fam n i often come here as both my parents are FHI members (they pay a sum of money one off n got a book of vouchers for free hotel stays, dinner, lunch, appetizers n revolving restaurant meals). The BBQ seafood dinner buffet is great (only on fridays n saturdays) with a delectable selection of boiled, grilled n roasted seafood n meats. Sushi n sashimi r also available aside from the hotel other dinner dishes. The room is spacious n comfortable but personally i find the tv channels r limited. My only gripe so far is the revolving restaurant. The restaurant is no longer revolving n it is still not fixed until now (the restaurant stopped revolving early last year). It is just unfortunate as we had hoped to enjoy the 360° view of KL. Well, technically now u cn still enjoy a 360° view but u'd have to walk around the restaurant n complete a circle to achieve that yourself :p The last time i had dinner there my fish was not fresh but the chef was kind enough to make me another one, he even delivered it to my table himself. One of the best things abt this hotel is the location. It is right in the middle of the city. The area becomes alive at night n u cn just take a stroll n enjoy the nightlife. The nearest MRT station (Bukit Bintang MRT Station) is just 5-7 mins walk from the hotel which is...

We both went to the verandah for an evening tea. The place was amazing! Chronology. I made a booking at fave for evening tea for 2. Came to the place just at a nick of time because the parking is undernearth of low yat plaza! Lol! And you have to walk from there to the hotel. Upon entering the hotel from jalan bulan, the hotel has a stench like a very old hotel. Perhaps the fountain at the entrance is not well maintained. But, getting to the 1st floor, where the verandah is, everything turns out to be awesome. We sat behind the piano and facing the pool. The ambience is cosy, abit secluded, but very relaxing. The services on the other hand is super slow at that time. But they apologise and regrets for what has happened. Out of 10 delicacies, i would thumb downed 3 of them. And please. Evening tea is all about sweetness. We would rather to have a teapot on our table rather than sugar sachets. Lol. Or else put them both so we can fill our cup without the hassle of twisting our necks(me and my partner) looking for the tea lady.

Same old establishment without much changes seen over the years. Though the place is old among the many new hotel around the golden triangle of Bukit Bintang that has mushroomed recently but it never fail to shine through thick or thin. This place has seen lots of changes surrounding the present vicinity but the ambiance and tranquility has never burn out from the fragrant years not long ago when it was among the leading hotels in Kuala Lumpur. Staffs seemed ever friendly here and never falls short of the warmth upon arrival, wide smile gleaming towards you. Its always a cheerful and pleasant experience coming here and being around affectionate masses. Though it had lost the rankings of being the finest in terms of glamour but not in terms of prestige. Sure worth your money staying around the golden triangle of KL city.

The very 1st International 5-Star Hotel in Malaysia. It was built by the then Tan Sri Low Yat. It has a great location and within the proximity to KL golden triangle. The Hotel still maintains the older day's décor, furnishings and fittings. Most of the workers, waiters & waitress, cooks are of older folks. After so many years, the Hotel is still being well maintained and cleaned. If you are in the vicinity, do check out their restaurants and have the privilege of eating in an environment of time past...
