The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

There were 2 staffs when i arrived at cashier counter that was no one in front of me. Waited for a while b4 i was served. Strangely, unlike the normal practice, the staff did not ask for my name, i hv assumed that due to topping up, she has gotten my name. After order was done,my hubby & i waited at the table nearest to the collection counter. It took an unusually long time witbout hearing my name being called even thought we saw 3 bags were ready at collection counter. Initially, i assumed since we were not called, they could be for grab food order and because we ordered 5 drinks + 3 cakes hence the wait. We started noticed something was wrong when they guy arrived after us who only ordered 1 drinks was called to collect his drinks. So we went to ask and the staff passed the 3 bags that have been sitting there for a while to us. My husband asked the staff why wasn’t him called us when the order was ready, he juz ignored us. For this, i wished i could rate your service 0 star. The staff firstly did not follow the normal protocol to get customer’s name while ordering, then when the order was ready, there was no initiative to even ask customer who were sitting nearest to the counter (without any food or drinks) their ordering number to hand over the order. Thirdly, when confronted, there is no single apologise but juz ignorance . Poor...

Terrible service to say the least. With my name clearly labelled on the cup, the staff went to put my drink into a takeaway bag only to give it to someone else. When I mentioned this to him, he just shrugged it off and did not even apologise for his mistake.

Then he went to remake the drink, only for another staff to take over and in the process of it, the entire drink was spilled behind the counter.

Not to mention about the hygiene of preparing the drink, I noticed the staff sticking his nose in the jug after blending my Chai Ice Blended.

On top of this, the shop had about 5-6 staffs just scrabbling behind the counter and the customers were just waiting for their drink. After a long wait, everyone had to look for their own drinks. But no point of labelling names on the cups if the staffs are just giving them to anyone with the same orders.

Safe to say I won’t be returning. I hope Coffee Bean really screens through...

Even though not a coffee lover, I dropped by this coffee chain store just to chill out while waiting for my booked table at some nearby restaurant on New Year's Eve and somehow found this to be very well-run and certainly a nice place to chill out while enjoying your cuppa. Clean and well-maintained, the staff are very professional and courteous. My Chinese green tea was a bit bland but considering it is not their specialty, no rating deduction in that department. If anything negative about this premises, it is the location of their single toilet upstairs which can only be accessed walking up a metal spiral staircase. This certainly is not user friendly especially for some seniors. Overall, this is one of the better Coffee Bean branch I have been to. ...
