Why this place is so highly recommended? ( Probably they are faked by the owner ?) The truth of What do you expect here ?
Cheapest Japanese restaurant decorations I have ever seen, aircon also at high temperature.
Sparking clean will never be the appropriate word for this place.
Unfriendly staff / owner, u won't get a welcome when u enter or thank you when u leave like any other Japanese restaurant, or even a happy face. Aubsaloutly zero hospitality, you will need to ask for basics including soya sauce, and u will see rolling eye balls when u ask. Plus the speed will be very slow ( over 5 mins for a tea bag in hot water ), don't expect auto refill service.
You won't see a proper Japanese chef or a standard standard taste there.
!! You will be serving in the cheapest bowl you can find in IKEA ( means not welcoming and small portion ) with a baby size spoon ( not kids size ) it impossible to hold. When you order natto they will only give you the plastic package directly from supermarket and you will do all the work yourself without a proper dish ( unless you ask , and get another rolling eye balls ).
Trust me, the 10pm discounted sashimi in the supermarket will be better then here.
The rice also badly over cooked , a very armature mistake ( you can see in the picture , the rice were already enlarged and flat)
I physically puked at the spot after I had half of it , when it my first meal of the day. ( I skipped lunch ), This is why my pictures is half finished, as I really need to warn everyone about the truth of this place. ( The truth is when you ask the owner to try her own sashimi and she won't, and she knows better of the reason why ).
Only thing that's positive is the roasted tea.
Conclusion : bad dinning environment & experience bad staff hospitality & management bad price, quality & taste this place is not a simple not recommended or I will never come again, but i just couldnt think of a reason why this place deserves to be in business.
P.S. at this not considered cheap price, you will get a better of everything at most other Japanese restaurant with much...

Service seems to have dropped a bit. Food is still good but damn.. the smell. Sat near the glass by the drinks counter and it smelled like they used the same mop from the toilet without washing across the seating floor. Mixed with the fish smell, super pungent. This experience will haunt me for a fair amount of time. Came by after years and prices have increased. Service was okay, the guys managing the drinks were not very attentive but other than that, everything else was fine.
Mentai rice is now RM 24, but still as good as ever. Yuzu marinated sea bream was something different, i really enjoyed it. Salmon is standard. Hamachi was overpriced to me. RM 46 for 3 normal Hamachi slices cut into 3? Felt a bit much, would skip.
Not as packed as it used to be, or maybe we came at an odd timing (Sunday 1pm). Spent about RM 100+ on my portion.
There are reviews that said the service here sucks... bad, but what we saw during our visit was quite the contrary. The seating attendant outside was very courteous and cheery, the waiters were polite. And the lady whom I assume is the manager/owner was also very nice. Came at 6.15pm on a Saturday, was already packed full of people. We waited about 35 minutes for a seat.
Interior is... in one word, easy or simple. Food is also presented in a very simple manner. Tried a number of things here before but this round decided to go for the teriyaki amberjack. It was 💯 delicious. I'd get it again. Salmon sashimi was cheap @ RM 19 for 6 slices. Mentai rice increased price over the years but still tastes as good.
Worth coming if you ask me. Just come at the right times to avoid the crowd (if its...
Read morePossibly my favourite Japanese restaurant in Klang Valley, they started off as a seafood distributor to other Japanese restaurants around the city. Initially having a few tables and a limited menu of some fresh sashimi and grilled items, they’ve now expanded to 2 shop lots with a more comprehensive menu.
Recommended are their various types of sashimi which are generally fresh and reasonably priced since they’re seafood distributors themselves. Ocean Trout sashimi is very similar to salmon and my favourite here.
I also like the Ocean Trout grilled head when it’s available. Otherwise the Saba grilled with Teriyaki sauce or plain grilled with salt are good. Grilled Shishamo (pregnant fish) are another of my favourites but it does have a pronounced ‘fishiness’ so avoid it if you dislike the fishy aroma.
Steamed clams were decent and the Japanese fish cake was somewhat thin and disappointing. Side dishes like Grilled Brinjal with Miso paste and Bell Peppers with Tuna are offered at the table (like tapas or dim sum) and both were quite good.
Take the Weekday Rice set which comes with rice, miso soup and hot or cold green tea. The miso soup alone is worth the price of the set as it’s made with the off-cuts from the various fishes on offer here. Highly recommended.
My Japanese colleague remarked that the decor in the restaurant reminded him of Japan so I guess it’s pretty authentic. Service is polite and attentive too.
Do give it a try if you’re...
