My family and I went to Bukit Bintang to visit our favourite Chinese Muslim mala hotpot place only to discover the restaurant was under renovation. 😭

So we walked down the street and saw this Muslim Chinese Mee Tarik place. Mostly out of desperation, we sat down and ordered the "chef recommended" beef noodles.

In most other Chinese restaurants I've been to, this would be braised beef brisket, done Chinese style that is soft enough to just melt in your mouth. But noooooo. It was cubes from a cheap cut of meat that was tough and chewy AF.

But they gave a lot of it. That's how you know it's cheap.

Noodles were just good enough to tell it wasn't the store bought factory made noodles.

We ordered the lamb dumplings too. Meh. We bought some frozen gyoza from the grocery a few days later and even that was better than what they served us.

The drinks were a bit pricey if you consider mamaks offer almost the same thing for half the price.

Service was not attentive because we ordered har gaw shrimp dumplings that never came. The owner kind of gave the waiter a dirty look for forgetting, as he deducted it from our final bill.

Price of the meal wasn't that expensive but I felt cheated nonetheless. I guess you get what you pay for.

🥢 I tried the beef noodle soup and chicken noodle soup—both bowls came steaming hot with generous toppings and a clear, rich broth. The noodles had a perfect bite and were clearly handmade, giving that chewy, satisfying texture. The chopped scallions added a great freshness to every spoonful.

🍛 The fried rice with egg was also a standout—fragrant, savory, and well-fried with a slightly smoky wok hei aroma. The fried egg on top was crispy on the edges and runny in the center. Classic and satisfying.

🍢 Bonus points for the lamb skewers—juicy, seasoned with Chinese spices, and perfectly grilled. Great as a side or shared appetizer.

The portion sizes were generous, the food came out fast, and the prices were super reasonable for the quality you get. If you love bold Chinese flavors with a local street-food feel, this place is a must-visit.

I ordered: – Beef Ramen. First of all, the portion is HUGE. It comes in a big bowl, and you can even get a free noodle refill. I didn’t even need one because the portion was already more than enough for me. The broth was rich and comforting, just what you'd want from a warm bowl of noodle soup.
