We left after 3 nights in hell. We wish we had left sooner. When you pay for a 5 star accomodation you expect that is what you will recieve. Not here. If you like a dirty stinky hotel with no service for 5 star price this is the place for you. If not - we hope you booked a refundable rate so you're not left out of pocket like us. We arrive at entrance via car. No porter to greet. No porter to help with luggage. We wait in line for reception to check in. It is 5pm. There is a security man inside the floor where the reception is. The receptionist was not friendly, did not ask us how we are. No talk just straight to business. We lug all our luggage up. Our room was at the end of the corridor, far from the lift. On our way down the hallway to our room we wonder where we have come to, it has been damaged, beaten doors and walls, there are very dirty carpets & stains like someone has gone to the bathroom on them. Thick with cigarette smoke choking us as we make our way to our room. There are large gaps under the doors. The several rooms next to us were chain smoking & our room filled with smoke in a short time. We tried to call reception first night they did not answer. The same number you are meant to call if there is a fire! We could not sleep. We stuffed clothing around the door. We went down before breakfast to complain, they said the hotel is non smoking & the people should not be smoking. We asked to move, they said we can move to another room for 500myr extra per night but can't do it until tomorrow because they are too full to move us tonight. Having already prepaid 500myr per night for our room we could not pay them more. We suffered 2 more nights on hell.at least a family moved next dpor so not a smoker right next door but still the hallway was smokey. We left without a refund or apology to a clean hotel that does care & is surrounded by a rubbish dump, prostitutes outside hotel & homeless people down the street. Staff did not care. The house keeping staff are friendly & do their best but the whole place is very dirty. It is not a new hotel as we were mislead to believe. It has been refurbished but is badly beaten up. Bloods stained sheet on arrival. Dirt on dressing gown food in room information book. No face cloths or bathmat. Stains on bed runner so nice to be greated with that look. stains on carpet. Single pane window so you hear everything from below - karaoke & cars doing burnouts until early mornings. Make sure you bring ear plugs. During the day the noise from the pool (that is looked upon by al the hotel & lots of run down apartments next door). It gets very hot without aircon on constantly on. Air con over bed like a 747 plane, soo loud & dusty & no way to turn down fan. At least it drowns outthe outside noise. Gave us bad sore throats-combination of aircon & cigarette smoke. Dont pay for the breakfastgo elsewhere. Worst breakfast in Malaysia. A total let down. Same stale pastries & no variety of fruit. No muesli no plant based milk. No roti. Very...

Terrible Experience – Do Not Be Fooled by the Photos and Reviews!

My family and I had such an upsetting stay at this hotel that I feel obligated to warn others. Don’t be deceived by the pictures of the rooms or the misleading reviews. Here’s a brutally honest breakdown of our experience:

The Only “Good” Thing – But Not Really The rooms were spacious and looked relatively new at first glance. However, cleanliness was horrendous—dusty surfaces, dirty floors, and worst of all, stained bedsheets! Absolutely disgusting. Housekeeping barely did the bare minimum, and it was clear that the rooms were not being cleaned properly.

Now, the Long List of Problems

Rude and Incompetent Front Desk Staff The moment we entered the hotel, we should have known we were in for a terrible stay. The front desk staff did not acknowledge us at all—even though we were literally standing right in front of them! They were just sitting there, completely uninterested, as if we were invisible. No greeting, no welcome, nothing.

The Worst “Breakfast” Experience Ever •We booked a room with breakfast, which during Ramadan meant sahur. What we got was an absolute joke—the food was served like a prison cafeteria. Dry plain rice, two random gravies, plain bread, salad, and a couple of sad-looking fruits. That’s it. •When we arrived at the breakfast area, there were no staff around. No one to assist, no chef in sight. The chefs only showed up halfway through to start preparing food for later, and when we politely asked if we could take some, we were denied—because apparently, that food was “for breakfast guests.” Excuse me? What were we having, then? Lunch at 5:15AM? We paid for a breakfast package, and yet we were treated like freeloaders. •We complained to the guest relations officer, but nothing changed. The same miserable experience repeated for the next two mornings. It was obvious that the hotel didn’t care about guest feedback at all.

The Nightmare That Was the Lifts •The hotel had four lifts. But were they all working? Of course not. Initially, only two were operational. Then, midway through our stay, that number dropped to one—and this was during peak hours when the hotel was busy! Guests were packed into a single working lift, waiting forever to go up or down. •The worst part? The front desk staff showed zero concern and responded to guests with visible frustration. No apologies, no service recovery—just an “oh well” attitude. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Final Verdict – A Hotel That Does NOT Deserve Your Money

If you’re thinking of booking this place—don’t. It’s not worth your money, your time, or your sanity. Poor cleanliness, rude staff, terrible food, and broken lifts—it honestly felt like we were staying at a low-budget hostel rather than a proper hotel. Hotel claimed to be 4/5 stars, but its as though we were staying in some sad...

Here are some additional comments after my 2-night stay with Hotel Royal Signature 9th-11th, Dec 2024.

First impression: 5 of us arrived at 3ish pm on our first day of stay. We booked 2 rooms and was told that one of the rooms we booked was not yet available because someone smoked in the room and the room was smelly. We were offered a glass of welcome drink but it tasted so bad and weird that none of us could finish 1/3 of the drink. It was SO NOT a welcoming drink should be.

Staff: (1) At the concierge: They are not rude but not very polite and welcoming either. Just feel like they hate their job very much! (2) Restaurant for bfast: There were 4 finished plates on our table when we were still dinning. But no waiter/waitress would take them away. And it was me ending up bringing the finished plates to the tray-collection counter. Not sure if this is really a 5-star hotel at all.

Hygiene: (1) Dirty bedding with stains, made me itchy for 2 entire days (2) Yellowish tap water. There were 2 water taps, one without filtering and the other one with filtering. The one with filter is fine as water came out clear. But I doubt the shower system has a filter. So not quite sure if it was the dirty showering water or the dirty bedding made me itchy (3) The entire Hotel Corridor carpet at 9/F is covered with dust, stain, and tiny visible trash

Hardware: (1) Noisy AC - The AC is my room was super nosiy while the one my friends stayed was fine (2) TV channel - There are ~28 TV channel but none of them are Movie channel with English Sub. Dont turn on the TV as it will drive you crazy!! (3) Lighting - Terriblely designed with no sleeping lights. You either leave some of the "bright" nights on when sleeping or turn them all off and sleep in complete darkness (4) Bathroom sink is leaking water.........(I video-taped it but failed to upload it along with my comments) (5) The door is too heavy. Need extra strength to get it opened (6) The showering water is not hot enough. After a long walk, when I feel like I deserve a refreshing hot shower, but I ended up getting a shitty shower with some warm water.

I wasnt the one who booked the hotel so I didnt know how much it costs per night. But I was really shocked when learning this is a five-star hotel. To be very honest, even the hotel would offer me a free-stay, I wouldn't go.

P.S. There are a few Chinese tours coming in and out. So for certain period of time, the hotel lobby is super noisy. If you prefer a quiet place, please think twice before booking this hotel.

熱水不夠熱 房門太重,每次開門非常費力 洗手間水龍頭出水偏黄 床單有污漬,而且睡完全身痕癢,不知到是床單不乾淨或是有蚤 冷氣槽很嘈吵 酒店附近常塞車

Hot water isnt hot enough The door is too heavy. Need extra strength to get it opened Yellowish tap water Dirty bedding. Felt so itcy after sleeping on it Air conditioning is super noisy when running Bad traffic in the...

After more than a decade, I finally revisited Kuala Lumpur. I compared several well-rated hotels and eventually chose Hotel Royal Signature for its good location, spacious rooms, and recent renovation in 2023. Unfortunately, the actual stay turned out to be quite disappointing. Check-in Experience We arrived close to 7 p.m. The lobby had three front desk staff members, but none greeted us—they were each busy with their own tasks despite no other guests around. Only after a while did one staff member finally acknowledge us and began the process, but it was filled with confusion and impatience. She repeatedly demanded an “Agoda receipt,” even after I provided proof of payment, which she refused to accept. In the end, she only explained that we had to pay a tourism tax and place a deposit. The entire check-in process felt unprofessional. Even more shocking, when we reached our connecting rooms on the 13th floor, the door was wide open. Two barefoot men were inside, and another rushed in from the corridor to call them out. When we reported this to the front desk, they checked with housekeeping and explained, “They were just putting towels in the room.” But why would multiple people need to enter together, and why were towels being delivered so late in the evening? Such a situation is unacceptable and severely undermined our sense of safety. Pros 1.Comfortable bed with the right firmness, providing good sleep quality. 2.Excellent location—within walking distance to Bukit Bintang shopping district and Jalan Alor night market. 3.Spacious connecting rooms, suitable for families. Cons 1.Visible dust in multiple areas (bed frame, tables in the room and living area, and bathroom), showing poor cleanliness. 2.Staff lacked warmth and professionalism. 3.Bathroom trash bin had no liner, which often caused unpleasant odors. Other Observations During our four-night stay, we did not allow housekeeping to enter again. Only on the morning of check-out did we finally encounter a male supervisor who proactively assisted us, and the process was much smoother. Later, I checked Google reviews and noticed that the hotel’s GM, May Cheong, personally replies to guest feedback and promises improvements. This is commendable, but the real challenge is in delivering those promises and making guests truly feel the difference.

Housekeeping was the only weak point during our stay. When we first checked in, the room was dusty, and there was sticky residue from spilled coffee or tea from the previous guests, which had not been cleaned properly. After the first housekeeping service, the situation got worse when the cleaner provided us with a used and clearly dirty towel—it was stained on both sides, which was honestly unacceptable and quite disgusting. On the second day, the dust was still there, we found a strand of hair next to the bed, and the cups we had used ourselves were left unwashed. When I returned to the room late in the evening and noticed that the used cups were still exactly as we left them, and the cleaner provided another dirty towel, I mentioned all of that to the receptionist. Unfortunately, she responded in a careless way, as if it was not an important issue. The bathroom marble and the tray holding the toiletries were never cleaned properly from day one. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, and the cleanliness remained below expectations. This was especially disappointing because our tourism agency had originally selected another 5-star hotel, but I personally preferred this one, so I had higher expectations regarding room service and housekeeping. To be fair, once we formally reported the issue, the hotel management responded positively. They apologized, offered us a late checkout, and promised to ensure our next stay would be more comfortable and satisfying. I do appreciate that the management eventually took action to resolve the matter. Many thanks to Ms. Mandy. The hall of the breakfast is really organized and clean. They have a variety of Asian food and pastries, etc. You will feel comfortable in the lobby area; it is big and nice. The decoration in general in the hotel is modern. We can see the top of the twin towers from our window plus the red lights of the china street and the tallest tower in the world after the Burj Khalifa. The rooms' spaciousness is sufficient and the TV is new and large in size. Around the hotel, there are a lot of restaurants, malls, pharmacies, clinics, and super market which has an ATM machine, some of them are very close (few steps) and some are farther, it would be up to your choice. But in general the location is good since many things are around the hotel.
