visited Dun Huang Dim Sum on early June 2025 and found the restaurant to be beautifully decorated, offering an atmosphere that makes you feel as though you are dining in China. However, the food and dining experience had its ups and downs.

The dim sum is all frozen, as we noticed it being taken directly from the fridge and steamed upon order. Each plate is priced between RM5 to RM7. Here’s our feedback on some of the dishes we tried:

Pork Ribs: The flavor leaned toward the sweet side, with a chewy texture, which might not suit everyone’s preference. Fried Chee Cheong Fun: The taste was reminiscent of fried chai tow kuey (fried radish cake), but nothing particularly stood out. Green Tea Sweet Potato Bun: While the concept sounded interesting, the flavor and execution were quite average, with nothing memorable about it. Shanghai Soup Dumpling: The skin was overly soft and lacked the firmness needed to hold the filling. On a positive note, the pairing of vinegar with ginger slices was well-prepared and stood out as a highlight.

One issue we encountered was related to the ambiance, particularly for those seated near the kitchen area. The decorative wall features an LED light without a diffuser, and since it was misaligned, the glaring effect was uncomfortable for our eyes. We recommend that the shop owner consider repositioning the light or adding a diffuser to prevent glare and improve the overall dining experience.

While Dun Huang Dim Sum offers a charming environment and some decent dishes, there’s room for improvement in terms of food quality and attention to detail with the...

As an avid lover of dim sum, I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I must say, it was a great experience. The dim sum is one of the best in town. Each bite was a burst of flavor, meticulously crafted to perfection. From the classic favorites like Shanghai Dumplings and Siew Mai to more adventurous options like shrimp har gow and chicken feet, every dish did not disappoint.

One thing that truly stood out to me was the freshness of the ingredients. You could taste the quality in every bite, from the succulent meats to the delicate wrappers. It was evident that the restaurant takes great pride in sourcing the finest ingredients, and it truly paid off in the taste and texture of the dishes.

In addition to the traditional dim sum offerings, they also offers a variety of other Chinese delicacies, including porridge, soups, and stir-fries. Each dish was nicely prepared, with bold flavors and beautiful presentation.

But perhaps what impressed me the most was the impeccable service. The staff were attentive and friendly, always ready to offer recommendations or refill my tea. It was clear that they were passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience, and it did not go unnoticed.

Overall, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the delicious food to the top-notch service, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Whether you're a seasoned dim sum aficionado or simply looking to explore new flavors, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit...

The menu offers a tantalizing array of traditional and innovative dim sum creations. Standout dishes include the succulent Siu Mai King filled with a harmonious blend of tender ground pork and shrimp, the Shanghai Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) filled with a savory broth that bursts in your mouth, and the fragrant barbecue pork buns that melt in your mouth with every bite.

They also offer a selection of innovative creations that push the boundaries of traditional Cantonese cuisine. From fusion-inspired Fried Balls filled with unexpected ingredients like Nian Gao and Yam, to inventive takes on classic dishes such as the Green Tea Sweet Potato bun, there is something new and exciting to discover.

The space is elegantly decorated with subtle touches of Chinese culture, such as ornate lanterns, intricate wooden carvings, and tasteful artwork adorning the walls. The seating arrangements are well-spaced, providing an intimate dining experience while still allowing for a sense of openness. Comfortable seating and soft lighting contribute to a...

Air-conditioned Dim Sum place which seems quite popular and crowded on weekends. Limited seating so if you have big group, good to come early to avoid queue and long wait. Mini Portuguese Egg tart is tasty but quite small and cute at 3 for $6.50. I think I need to eat 10 to feel it’s enough. Nian Gao Golden ball is unique and good. Tried an assortment of their steamed dim sum. People who like will say it’s juicy. People who are healthy conscious will say it’s oily and cloying. So I think if you order many meaty pork steamed dim sum good to take some Chinese tea if you are scared of greasiness.
